  Ive posted a total of 3 reviews for a company in my life, and this is one of three. Jstraw Pools company is average from a customer service perspective and in my experience does decent work. This opinion is based upon two service call-outs I requested from them where the issue I had was resolved, and my personal interaction with the company by both email and by phone. The technician Evan I dealt with was very nice and helpful. However, my experience with the owner John left much to be desired. Initially, my first phone interaction with him was good, but as I continued with John, I learned quickly he does not communicate very well in my opinion. He would take very long to respond to emails to the degree I would have to follow up by phone and subsequent email numerous times to hear back. He came off a little bit rude and passive aggressive with me on two occasions. Once in a VM he left me and again in an email response. I like supporting smaller family owned businesses, but after my overall experience with this company I changed to another company. The other company quoted me less for the same service and had really good communication. I would probably not recommend this company to a friend.

  I purchased an above ground pool for the first time in my life. I’ll be honest and admit I had no idea what I was doing and the internet was all but helpful. (Sometimes too much information is too much information). I called John, who instructed me on how to clear my very green pool efficiently, and quickly. He asked me core questions like what is the pool being used for, and for me it was my dog Arjuna. He described how the growth of bacteria occurs and how stagnant water was not a good thing! For my dog or myself! John, thank you for the best summer I could have had with my dog.

  John and his team are top notch. Always do a great job opening and closing my pool every year. Had issues with my pool heater over MDW and John took time out of his weekend to help me out. First class service. Highly recommend
