I received a promotional mailing from John Moore offering a free HVAC inspection, which seemed like a great opportunity to check on my system. However, when the technician arrived, he immediately called their office to clarify the scope of the service. I was surprised to learn that he was only authorized to inspect the heater—not the full HVAC system as advertised. Because of this limitation, the technician was sent away without performing any inspection. This experience felt misleading and wasted my time. If the offer only covers a heater inspection, that should be clearly stated in the mailing. I expected transparency and professionalism, but unfortunately, this fell short.

I had a prior AC company come out in Aug and charge me for parts and Freon. On their second trip 30 days later they told me my dwnstrs was out and I needed a condenser, coil and box. Also the last ppl told me I had a leak made no sense since they were just here a month ago and only had to put 1lb of freon in it. Called John Moore their tech Bryce came out dwnstrs unit was bone dry. I explained everything to him. We discussed his findings he could see where it had leaked and showed me. Bryce started the leak test turns out no leak. Conclusion is the last ppl didn’t close the valve or their guage was bad and valve was left open when they did put freon in the unit and everything leaked out. This check was worth every dollar considering what it could’ve cost me and Bryce’s expertise & attention to detail saved me thousands of dollars. Both units are working just fine now. Thank you so much Bryce for your time and honesty.

I had a clogged bathroom sink that needed to be unclogged. I contacted John Moore Services to schedule a technician to come out to my house to unclog the sink. He was friendly and thorough, however after showing him the master bathroom sink that was clogged, he wanted to access the addic which was not part of the workscope and checked the hot water tank's installation dates. He worked up a few quotes to replace one of the water heaters in which was not needed to be replaced at this time. I asked him for just the quote to unclog the bathroom sink. He quoted me $499.00! That's way too expensive as Don Valentine with John Moore has been advertising $69 to unclog sinks. I contacted Milton Frank Plumbing and A/C and the technician came out within an hour and quoted me $237.00 to unclog the bathroom sink. It took him less than 10 minutes to complete the job and he was on his way. Why doesn't John Moore honor what they advertise and why so expensive just to unclog a sink? Very disappointing.

Subject: Appreciation for Professional HVAC Service I want to personally thank you for the outstanding professionalism and honesty you demonstrated during your service visit. Your careful inspection and willingness to open and evaluate the attic air-conditioning system revealed the underlying issue — the presence of mold or algae growth — which would have gone undetected without your trained eye. As a fellow prior-service member, I immediately recognized your discipline, integrity, and direct communication. It was refreshing to work with someone who combines technical expertise with the values we both learned in uniform: precision, accountability, and respect for the mission. Your clear explanation of the problem, and the corrective action involving UV-C treatment, reflected not only your knowledge but also your commitment to doing the job the right way. I sincerely appreciate the quality of your work and your honesty in diagnosing the issue rather than taking shortcuts. Thank you again for your professionalism and for representing your trade with such pride. I will gladly recommend your services to others and will contact you for any future HVAC maintenance needs.

recently called John Moore Services for what should have been a simple plumbing issue — a clogged bathroom sink connected to my air conditioner drain line. I reached out after seeing their TV commercial promoting clogged sink service for “about $69.” What I quickly discovered is that this advertised rate applies to an extremely narrow and unadvertised category of sinks that almost no real-world situation meets. My straightforward, less-than-20-minute fix was quoted at over $600 to snake. This is an outrageous markup for such a basic job. As a former small business owner, I find these tactics troubling. This is a textbook example of bait-and-switch advertising — grabbing attention with a low price, then upselling with inflated charges once the customer is committed. Practices like this harm consumers and tarnish the reputation of the many honest, hardworking service providers in our community. Shame on you, John Moore Services. My strong recommendation: Do Not Use.
