JK’s Restaurant in Kill Devil Hills, Milepost 9, is the place for steak on the Outer Banks, serving only the finest cuts, aged in-house, and hand-carved by our in-house butcher. Our beef and signature ribs are sourced exclusively from the Midwest, known for superior marbling, tenderness, and flavor.
We proudly serve fresh, locally sourced seafood, often brought in straight from the docks by friends and fishermen we’ve known for years. Our chicken is free-range, and every dish is prepared over our one-of-a-kind, cast-iron, wood-fired mesquite grill, delivering a bold, unforgettable flavor.
All entrées include the fresh vegetable of the day and your choice of rice pilaf or our signature mashed potatoes. Finish your meal with one of our house-made desserts, crafted fresh daily.

We walk in and tell him our names and we immediately get a seat, I got the ny strip and it was amazing it was cooked perfectly also right when you walk in you will see the steak on the grill right behind the glass which was really cool

- FOFish OnSep 11, 20252.0Tried JK's restaurant after searching the internet for a good steak around the Nags Head area and seeing it had a 4.6 review. Food was not good, overpriced is an understatement, the building was old and run down some inside/out and the atmosphere for a fine dining steakhouse was subpar at best. Our group ordered ribs , chicken, steak, and pasta. The ribs and chicken came out dry and not hot. Both appeared to have been cooked awhile before they were ordered. Ask for some bbq sauce to help with dryness and it was the worst example of sauce we ever had at a restaurant that served ribs/chicken. Pasta did not have enough sauce. Tasted like eating a bowl of boiled noodles with a small amount of cheese on the side to sprinkle on it. Steak was sorry for the price you pay with little sides to accommodate it. Best thing was the bread that came to the table to share with butter. Some of the party like the mashed red potatoes but some thought they also were too dry or stiff. Never been to a restaurant that prides itself on steaks without a complimentary side salad until now. How they are getting this 4.6 stars on the internet is beyond me for steaks and would recommend spending your high dollar meal money elsewhere.
