Not a local, but this has to be the worst bowling alley in NY. I wish I went to the Skyview mall instead. Why are customers experiencing grief at the counter when it's the lanes that are malfunctioning? They (lady at the counter) act as if we enjoy being at the counter instead of bowling. Customer service is the bare minimum for establishments such as these, and they can't even get that right. Time is money and this business respects neither when it comes to their patrons. The generic responses from the "owner" seem to be absolutely useless because the issues still persist and have been for years based on other previous reviews dating back to a decade.
Jib bowling? More like jipped bowling!
Mechanical and technical issues plague the alley. Combine that with employees who lack the compassion for guests who are on the receiving end of these issues and you get a waste of time and money.
The lane I was bowling on kept refusing to return the balls. We must've called for more than 10 ball returns. We called so much the poor mechanic at the back just stayed behind our lane to roll the balls back for us flintstone style for a game or two. At least until the ball returning mechanism at the front also broke, so he then had to then come fix that as well. Which we waited 30 minutes for. Yes I timed it. I have a lot of tolerance but this was getting absurd. I finally went up to the front desk and straight up asked if they minded comping us an additional hour. At which point the lady and male at the front scoffed at me and essentially accused me of lying as if all the mechanical failures accumulated to that amount of time.
First of all, it did. Second of all, you're not just comping back my time I lost to bowl, you should also be comping back my time wasted sitting around doing nothing. I have other things to do outside of your bowling alley that your delays cost us as well you know? I'm not sure if it was out of pride or petty, but after a little more explaining to her how the time added up, she decided to give me back 50 minutes. Not 60, 50. I guess 10 minutes was worth dying on the hill for, even though at least a third of the lanes weren't even filled? And it's not like they didn't know I was having all these troubles. I even walked up to them multiple times outside of the service calls.
To add the cherry on top, after I got the 50 minutes back. We must've lost back another 20 - 25 minutes because the bar kept refusing to go up. We must've called service another 10 times. They must've realized that at the front. After realizing how wrong they were with their earlier inappropriate insinuation, they didn't even have enough humility to offer an apology I guess.
Considering the audacity and lack of need to check with anyone else, I have a hunch I dealt with the owner's wife. Do better. Hope that 10 minute hill was worth dying on.

Got some lanes and stuff. Have a great special some nights but often filled with leagues and no open lanes so..... somewhat pointless special if you ask me
