Well I won't be coming back. Jerl's has gone down hill. Bummer because I've been using them for years but recently I bought some specific breaks that I wanted installed on my truck but I had to return them because they said they could not warranty them if I provided the breaks, but they could get the brakes I wanted from "their" vendor. Didn't know that "their" vendor was going to cost me 135% more than what I bought the brakes for. That's a bit much, even for an up-charge which I totally get, you gotta make money but that's just straight robbing someone. And then on top of that, they tried to get me to replace my rotors when I knew they were still good and just needed to be turned. And so after denying having them replaced, I get a call a few hours later and magically, one of my calipers is broken. Yeah, nothing was mentioned about it when the brakes were taken apart and then It was magically stripped on one side only. Now, as I left, I see a garage full of kids playing mechanics, it really makes me wonder how that would have gotten stripped out. This whole situation stinks and I feel like this was a totally cash grab or a cover up for their mistake. Sucks because I use to recommend them to everyone but now I'll be doing the opposite.

Took my truck in for an alignment. They were fast, honest and absolutely loved my truck. Got lots of comments on the build. Very friendly management, and employees. Highly recommend to use them for alignments and any other mechanical needs.

I have been a customer with Jerl’s muffler since the magnolia location when Jerl was still alive. At the new location on Indiana when Brian was running it in 2014 customer service was excellent! Fast forward to 2025 with the new ownership, I came to Jerl’s muffler 4-19-2025 to have a flow master 40 series with the black Crome quad tip exhaust installed on my brand new 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. Arrived and was told they don’t have one in stock, after I called to confirm. I drove all the way back to Fontana where I live 25 miles away from Jerl’s muffler. I came back the next weekend 4-26-2025 Per the manager to have the work done. They installed the flow masters, and when they started up my vehicle, the check engine light came on after they told me it wouldn’t happen. They cleared the code and I was on my way. The next time I started my vehicle, the check engine light came on with an admissions code. I called a spoke with another manager named Don, he said bring it back in for the third time. I brought it back and they said they forgot to install the valve that controls the normal sport or off road that was the problem. So they proceeded to search around their property for 30 minutes, looking for this valve that they never found. After watching them search for this for a while, I told them I kept the old muffler. They said it was attached to the old muffler. Can I go back home and bring the muffler back and they can fix it, this is my fourth trip now I’m up to 100 miles going back and forth. When I come back on 5-3-2025 8:00am The manager, I can’t remember his name, but he has an Australian accent and his son‘s name is Josh. I do remember that. He never spoke to me or apologized for the inconvenience and going back-and-forth his employees that did the work apologize profusely, but management treated me like I was a problem. They reinstalled the valve cleared the check engine light code and I was on my way. I’m going down to 91 freeway and get to 14th St. for people that are familiar with the area and the check engine light comes on again. I turned around and go back and the Australian manager sorry to refer to him as that, but I don’t remember his name never came over to apologize or help me, even his employees were saying how rude that was and that he had something going on in his life, hell who doesn’t have something going on in their life. It took them a hour and 30 minutes trying to clear this code they finally cleared it and I asked the manager if it comes on again then what, I’m tired of going back-and-forth I’m gonna take it to the dealership and you’re gonna pay for the recalibration of my computer or buy a new stock exhaust system. He said absolutely not. I need you to bring it in again Monday 5-5-2025 so Don the other Manager that is supposed to be a computer specialist at their business can diagnose it. Now Don was there when I brought the vehicle in the second time so why should I feel confident in any of those managers, customer service skills or work that they do at Jerl‘s muffler. To make a long story short, it was a horrible experience and now I’m stuck with a brand new truck with less than 300 miles on it that keeps popping up the check engine light with an emissions code. I would never write a review and slander someone’s good name or business just because someone made me mad, but this new management is so far removed from the way Jerl ran the business. I suggest not going to them, especially if you have black or brown skin because they treated me like I didn’t matter. Shame on you Jerl’s muffler and I hope the MOST HIGH deals with the two rude managers. You’re doing business in our community and you’re not gonna get away with treating people of color like they don’t matter. I’m gonna go on all forms of communication and tell them how you did me.
