UPDATE: Matt returned my call after this post and was able to get me on a new policy as he understood why I am frustrated. He told me he would call me the next day with answers on if my claims would be able to be covered during the lapse. No return call yet so I assume I will have to pay those out of pocket (which should have been covered if they would have fixed my autodraft from the beginning) but I do have a policy moving forward.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have been a client of the Jeffords Insurance Agency for several years and have held multiple types of insurance through them. Unfortunately, my experience with their communication and customer service has been extremely disappointing. Due to their lack of follow-through, my healthcare coverage was canceled for nonpayment—even though I was set up on autodraft.
The issue began when I moved to a different county, which changed the ZIP code associated with my credit card. Ever since, it has been a nightmare trying to correct the situation. I’ve reached out to both Matt and Cybil multiple times, asking them to reactivate my policy and update the payment information. Each time, I was assured they would take care of it, but nothing was done.
I attempted to resolve the issue directly by calling BCBS, who informed me I must go through the Marketplace to make a payment. The Marketplace then told me that only my insurance agent—Jeffords Insurance—can set up the autodraft. Despite repeated requests, the agency failed to complete this process. Now, they are no longer responding to my calls or texts.
As a result of their inaction, my healthcare coverage was canceled. To make matters worse, in trying to “fix” the issue, they created a new policy for me—yet BCBS continues to send letters requesting documentation for why I lost prior coverage. The answer is simple: Jeffords Insurance failed to re-enter my payment information into the BCBS system, despite numerous requests.
I am beyond frustrated and at a complete loss. I am now left with no health insurance coverage due to a failure on Jeffords’ part to complete a basic administrative task that I had asked them to do for months. This situation has caused unnecessary stress and placed my health coverage at risk. If I end up having a life threatening event occur during the coverage period, rest assured that I have saved every text begging for you to help me and a court proceeding will be filed by my family.
