- JAJanelle ArevaloOct 4, 20251.0Went shopping at JC Penny today and asked a simple question to the cashier Laura. Do you guys honor military discount? Her first reply was I don’t know. I asked if she could ask a manager and she said she’s on the other side of the store it’s going to be a while, do you still want me to ask? I said yes please. She then called the manager and said yes we do but not at the moment. I asked what do you mean by that and she said it varies. Then she said that it’s only 10%. It’s not what she said but how she said it with the eye roll. As a military veteran who served my country I deserve more than an eye roll and disrespect by a young woman. I asked if she could call the manager so she did. The manager Donna came and I asked the same question. Donna gave me the same answer as Laura. I was told it varies. I said okay thank you and continued my transaction. On my way out the store, I asked another cashier (Poth). Poth was able to give me the exact answer of the days that JC Penny honors military discount. Poth said major holidays like Veterans Day, Memorial Day, etc. I appreciate Mrs. Poth customer service and most of all great attitude. My recommendation to this store is to educate your employees of these information and train them how to respond in a respectful manner despite them having a bad day. Customers are the ones providing monies for JC Penny to stay in business and highly recommend teaching young employees how to treat customers with the up most respect.
