  My recent visit to JCPenney was extremely frustrating. The cashier, Vanessa, exhibited a level of rudeness and disinterest that is simply unacceptable. She failed to greet us and was generally unhelpful. I don't know if that's just how she is, but it was like she was being forced to help us after telling us the price of some sandals. She removed the price and rescanned everything again. And since the product wasn't scanning, she sent my mother-in-law back to check the price of the sandals, making her go all the way back. Before asking her if she could call someone to help us and she said no, that we had to go there ourselves. Which afterwards she had called someone in the shoe section “to help her.” Which felt like discriminatory behavior, created a hostile and unpleasant shopping environment. As someone who works in customer service, I know the importance of treating all customers with respect.

  How is JCP allowing workers to work in the heat in this store? They were fanning themselves and customers were pouring sweat! Also the clearance section near the bedding was such a mess that I couldn’t even get to it . I had to end up leaving because of the heat. I will not be back this store until the A/C is fixed !
