  Just spoke with the in-store pickup representative who hung up on me unprofessionally (on 10/23/25 @ 1213) but at least provided some assistance prior (I guess she was over it. She could have at least put me on hold to attend to the customer in the store, but she hung up on me, very unprofessional). A week ago I spoke with a representative who was very helpful in helping me figure out how to get my order picked up at curbside while I am deployed. But this lady today did not want to provide customer service above and beyond. Unfortunately JCP.Com never sent a confirmation email with a bar code and the female representative did not even apologize for the inconvenience and try to initially help. I wish the original lady was here today to provide exceptional customer service, which has become a lost art these days. As a consolation, at least tonight’s customer service rep said it was possible for a curbside pick up, but basically a 50/50 chance.

  I normally rarely leave bad reviews. If I have a negative experience, I usually just take it with a grain of salt and leave the business without complaining. However, today was my first time in the mall’s JCP in years and I was looking forward to shopping there as I always used to when I was younger. As I was walking to the ONE checkout area that was available in the entire store, there were two cashiers and a few customers scattered around (making it difficult to tell where the checkout line began). Not only that, where the line actually began the lady who was standing there didn’t have anything in her hands, so it was safe to assume she was standing there waiting for someone she was with to check out. The African American gentleman who works there (I didn’t get his name), told me where the line began so then I moved to the correct area with no problems at all. The cashier then proceeds to sarcastically and condescendingly say to ANOTHER CUSTOMER who is checking out, “the sign says it right there” referring to me not knowing where the line began, and began to laugh and joke with the customer with both of them looking in my direction. This was rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. I didn’t mind being where to told where the correct area was, but his behavior is unacceptable. When I heard it, I left my things there and didn’t buy from the location. I tried calling after the fact when I was more calm and in a place to speak coherently, of course no one answered the phone. Save your money and time going here.

  Wow Penney's Bad bad bad. I used to shop Penney's a lot. Havent been back in years. Ordered towels got JCP order wrong. Ordered again, sent wrong color. Went to ship back since no longer near a store. Each shipment $8.95 - first wrong order, ship back cost, 2nd wrong order ship back cost total $35.80 in shipping!? Drove an hour each way to return to store. Went to pay credit card of $8.95 and looked at terms 33.99% interest fee. $1.99 paper bill fee, late fee on less than 3 wk cycle $40. And you wonder why bankruptcy and financially in the tank. Cut up card - another longtime customer gone.
