It was great to be in a JCPenney store again. The one I used to shop at has closed. Fun!

The main point I want to emphasize is to pay attention to how prices are rung up for the items you are purchasing. Recently, I bought three shirts and one pair of pants near the store's closing time. At the same time, I was also picking up an order that was ready in the back of the store. The cashier didn’t want to ring up my items because returns and pickups are handled in the back. I found this quite inconvenient because it meant I had to wait in line multiple times to complete my purchases when it could have been done where I already was.
When I finally reviewed my receipt the next day, I noticed that they charged me for two shirts and two pairs of pants—when did I even get a second pair of pants? Essentially, they charged me for a pair of pants I never received, and my third shirt was missing from the receipt. (And before anyone jumps to conclusions, no, I did not steal anything; this was their error.)
The next day, I went to the back of the store and discussed my receipt with another sales associate. Since I was planning to return the pants anyway, she was able to refund me for both pants (including the one I never had) and charge me for the third shirt. She was nice and helpful and apologized for the mistakes made by others.
I don’t mind shopping there; I’ve just learned to be more aware of how they charge me.

It sucks that you have to walk to the back corner of the store to return items (God forbid there is a line) and then go back up to the entrances to checkout. The signs at the return/pickup counter now says, all purchases much be made up front. I asked the cashier, did I have to do that even when I was returning an item and she said all purchases are to be made up front. I’m sure the store has its reasoning, but from a customer’s perspective, this is a huge inconvenience to have to stand in line twice.🙄 Do better JCP‼️
