  I understand that employees are expected to promote JCP credit cards, however, one female employee in particular was video taped pushing a credit card onto an elderly man who clearly wasn’t in the right state of mind possibly due to dementia. Despite bystanders trying to help by saying not to go through with the transaction, the woman insisted. When the system prompted for the man to put his personal information in, she completely took over the POS machine and put JCP’s phone number as person of contact. This is clearly elderly financial exploitation and unethical credit solicitation. This is absolutely wrong of your company and I could only imagine how many more victims are out there at this point.

  I recently opened a JCPenney credit card and tried to use the new customer discount within the stated 24-hour window. Unfortunately, staff were unwilling to honor it and seemed reluctant to look up my account information, instead asking me to provide new sign-up details even though I am already enrolled in rewards and have their store card. The interaction felt dismissive and unhelpful. The store itself had a limited selection outside of Levi’s, and much of the clothing was poorly merchandised. Throughout my shopping experience, not one staff member approached me and asked if I needed assistance with anything. At checkout, the store attempted to charge full price on a clearance item, I walked away from the sale. Overall, this experience was disappointing enough that I plan to pay off my card and likely close the account. I cannot recommend shopping here based on this visit.
