After an unforeseen power outage in town on a Friday night, my Trane HVAC gave up the ghost. I called JC Mechanical the next morning because my neighbors had highly recommended their services. JC Mechanical offered to come out that day to look at my 18 yr old Trane HVAC system. I had other commitments and scheduled them to come out on Monday. They arrived 30 minutes early and looked over my system. Sadly, the cost to repair the system (due to the age of unit and industry switch to a new refrigerant) was just not the smart financial thing to do and I knew this as well based on the time I'd had spent researching HVAC systems before I had the Trane unit installed 2008 to replace the one that was original to the home. JC Mechanical doesn't sell Trane, but did quote me a package price on a Heil unit. I agreed to the price. This was on a Monday, they had the new unit out to my house Thursday morning just after 8am and fully installed before noon. The price quoted for everything, install, cleanup, etc., come out to around $8000. As of right now, I'm extremely happy and satisfied with the work JC Mechanical has performed at the exact price that was quoted to me.

I came here wanting Electrical Heating, and a submarine. They told me that such a request directly contradicts their business mantra... I went home and had a pizza, it had pepperoni on it. I enjoyed it very much, next time I will think before i put my foot in it, not the pizza, just metaphorically you know!

I thought I was doing business with a company that had integrity but unfortunately not. I have paid for a Spring / Fall service and then sold my home prior to having the Fall service completed. My new home will not be built for a few months and JC Mechanical refused to carry over my Fall service to the following spring on my new home. So, I paid for 2 services and only received one due to their crappy customer service.

Used them for a number of years. When I had a lightning strike take out both units, they helped me with the insurance claim and got 2 new full systems plus surge protectors. When I have had any issues they fixed under warranty and have always been friendly. Even when waiting for a part, they made sure the unit was going enough to keep it manageable until it came in. Would recommend!

Update 8/19/25: I just discovered the issue was very likely not due to the dirty filter or the dirty coils, it was the thermistor going bad. After the unit poured a ton of water out of it from freezing up a few days later from JC Mech’s visit, I did some research myself and was able to realize the issue myself. Sad I paid over $200 for really no resolution and I, a non-HVAC trained person, was able to do some simple searches and fix the issue. I’d recommend you take your business elsewhere! 7/29/25: I hate to say, I was hoping I had found my last HVAC company I’d ever need… but that dream recently was ruined. My unit was not cooling as well as it should, called them up to take a look, all was going well… they worked me in on the next business day to take a look after I told them, it’s not urgent. The owner came out to look at unit, cleaned inside unit’s filter… stated that the dirty filter was the problem, charged me $109, which I paid. However problem was not resolved, unit was still not cooling. I called next day, a different tech came out the following day and discovered the true problem was the outside unit’s coils needed to be cleaned… said he knew what the problem was within minutes of him being on site (meaning he didn’t run any tests). I received another invoice for $99 after that second visit. I emailed the spouse of the owner who does the invoices/scheduling and tried to give her a few opportunities to correct the issue… unfortunately she chose to take the additional $99 (which I also paid) instead of a long term customer. Best of luck, but not how I’d say you treat a situation like this when the problem was not fixed on the first visit. If a mechanic were to work on your car, replace the starter charge you $300 and then hand it back to you, but your car doesn’t start, only to have to take it back to the mechanic for them to say… oh, it was actually the battery and charge you $200…I doubt the owners of JC mechanical would be all that happy with the mechanic either, but maybe. Per her response, they charge $209 for cleaning an inside filter and cleaning the coils outside (aka spraying it clean with my garden hose), which is insane! If they charge this much for that… glad I didn’t call them for a serious repair. I have had Lee Company and Busy Bee do these very things (clean/replace filter and coils) and actually more by looking at and testing internal components, twice a year for $99. Sad to say, this is not what I’d expect from a fellow Veteran or a small business trying to “treat you like family”. Best of luck to all that read this… so hard to find a good company anymore.
