I accepted his bid, he said he could do it in the coming week and he would call me to schedule. He asked if I wanted him to take the small tree right then, but since he said he could do them both within one week I said he could do both on the same day. That was a mistake, I never heard back from him despite my texts and phone calls. He seemed very nice and knowledgable about trees, but needs help with customer service. Poor response and/or follow through is unfortunately all too common in the tree service industry, I had to request bids from five companies to get one that was affordable and responsive.

When Should I Trim and Prune My Trees?
Oak trees should not be trimmed between April and October to avoid the spread of oak wilt disease. If an oak tree is wounded or pruned during this time, wound dressing or latex paint should be applied to mask the odor of freshly cut wood, which attracts the beetles that spread oak wilt disease.
