I will preface my negativity by stating that historically J and J mechanical has always been on point with their service, as evidenced by my prior reviews. However, I am totally dissatisfied with my recent service, both customer and technical. J and J mechanical came out on a Friday to diagnose the problem, spent three hours on site to diagnose the problem, I paid $245 for a “leak test”, and the technician left without finding a leak, and was scheduled to return the following Wednesday. I questioned why the leak test could not be completed that day, and I was basically told that he had spent over the time allotted trying to diagnose the problem and he had other customers waiting. I called back on Monday and requested a technician to come sooner as I had already paid for a test that he did not complete, and they sent a different technician on Tuesday, who diagnosed something totally different, and he confirmed that there was never a leak to begin with. He quoted a repair price of $1425 for the thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), and stated that the part would be shipped overnight, and replaced on Thursday. No one showed up on Thursday, so I reached out yet again only to be told that they do not overnight ship parts and they will be back on Monday for the repair. At that point, I reached out to 3 different companies, all who quoted a repair price of around $400 to replace the TXV. Since J and J had ordered my warranty part, I reached back out to see if I could get my part from them and pay for the shipping if needed, and I was told they would not allow me to have it. Ok, understandable if that is their policy; however, it was my warranty part filed for my unit, so I requested it be sent back so that I could re-file a claim with a different company, and the secretary rambled on something about they may not be able to send it back, at which point I suggested they just refuse the package since it was out for delivery via UPS. I assume it was returned as I had another company come and do the work for $400. However, if J and J mechanical had provided the quality service that I had come to expect based on prior experiences with them, regardless of the price difference ($1425 versus $400), I would have allowed them to proceed. I understand technicians can make mistakes, but at that point, I feel customer service should step up to ensure 100% customer satisfaction as advertised.
