    I had purchased a dress for my daughter online with Jcrew. My daughter tried the size 4 dress on and it was too big so I immediately called customer service placed an order for a size 2. Customer service said I could return it to the store on Canal street in New Orleans at Canal Place. The store was very busy when we arrived but we waited in line till our turn. When it was our turn I explained to the clerk that we were instructed to return the dress there . The clerk removed the dress from the shipping bag and turned to the other clerk showing him something in the seam under the arm. The clerk then told me this dress is not returnable it has deodorant on it. I was shocked. My daughter tries on the dress for let than a minute. I looked at the dress and saw a very small area the size of a dime, I preceded to wipe it with my t-shirt and it was gone. The clerk then told me it's still there so it is damaged. I was shocked and confused because you could not see the small amount of white that was hardly there before. The clerk then said I would need permission from customer service to return it. I asked for them to call since we went through the trouble of driving there to return. I was very annoyed at this point and said it is ridiculous that I have to call for permission to return something that clearly no longer has deodorant on it. I told customer service I would photograph it and send it to them. I asked to speak with the manager who happened to be the second clerk who told me if it had deodorant on it, it was damaged. I turned to my daughter who was shopping and asked her to see if there were any dark colored items on the floor with a white deodorant mark on them because if so, the manager might need to mark them as damaged. At that point he became extremely angry and threatened to call security. I am flabbergasted at the rude snobbery of the manager. If this was a truly damaged item I would understand the ridgid behavior. This item was not damaged in any way nor was there any deodorant residue. I think what got me the most was how the clerk / manger treated a customer that was challenging him by saying let pull some other dark pieces and see if there is deodorant residue. After he finally refunded me, we left the store completely shaken. My daughter was in tears and I was trembling. I have never been treated so horribly as a customer especially in a very crowded store on Black Friday. We will return the smaller sized dress unopened and will never shop with Jcrew again. My daughter works in retail and was shocked by the lack of customer service skills the manager displayed. I spoke to some friends that have shopped the Canal Place store, they said they had encountered the same rude behavior. My entire interaction with customer service was lovely every time we spoke from placing both orders till the horrible end of this story. Customer Service was so helpful and kind that it made the encounter at the Jcrew location even more shocking. If I was the district manager, I'd be genuinely concerned about this location and especially the management choice.

    Bought a suit for a wedding here. They steamed it for me while I waited. Helpful staff.
