It was my husband's birthday celebration and we booked for 12 people and the morning of four more joined so I called in and Kristin was able to make it work for us all to sit together. Then, after we ordered food we had two more to surprise us and Jimmy was able to squeeze them in for the celebration. Everyone had such a great time and Kristin and Jimmy made it extra special. We were a large group and they took amazing care of us and the food was awesome as always. The world famous grouper sandwich is world famous for a reason and the onion rings should hold the same title! Again, we always have a great time visiting here and we are a large group coming on motorcycles. Thanks again for making this a special day and for each time we visit. Shout out to Kristin and Jimmy!!

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at the Island Gypsy. We are here on a family vacation, and one of the servers completely ruined our evening. Our server, a tall, slim man with many tattoos, was short with us and made several rude and condescending comments throughout our visit. When my cousin forgot her ID and tried to order a drink, he informed her that he couldn’t serve her — which we completely understand and respect. However, he did not ID me or my sister, who are both the same age as my cousin, which made the situation feel inconsistent and uncomfortable. After that interaction, his attitude toward our table remained dismissive and unwelcoming, which really dampened what was supposed to be a fun family night out. And no, for the 12th, we do not want carrot cake.

We hit Island Gypsy after a kayak tour through Rookery Bay. Jimmy waited on us and took care of our every need. Drinks were cold, food was hot and delicious. We had 5 people, everyone ordered something different, and everyone enjoyed their food. Our only regret was not ordering the onion rings which looked amazing as we saw them carried to other guests. My wife had their signature frozen banana drink, and is a fan for life. Thanks Jimmy! 10/10. Highly recommend.

This place was a total find. From the moment we got there the waiter Felix was completely helpful and professional. Checked in on a several times while we ate our meals. And the meals really were the star of the show. We started with the smoked fish dip as an appetizer. Then, I got the Mahi tacos with the pear slaw and chipotle aioli or something it was phenomenal. Chocked full of fresh fish and the flavor balance was just incredible. She got the chicken quesadillas and they were equally as good, stuffed full of grilled chicken and lots of great cheese. Would definitely come back here again.

Best onion rings ever....and if you can't eat them all, take them home...next day for breakfast, fry them back up in a little oil, and drop an egg in the middle.....throw in a sausage patty and a sprinkle of shredded cheese, and you'll wonder why they don't offer it on the menu!...
