Our room wasn’t as clean as it should have been, there was dust everywhere, and we had to call for another blanket because the one in our room had a yellow, crusty stain on it.
On a positive note, we really enjoyed the service at Hops House 99, the staff was great, and the food was awesome. We were also told that if we billed our meal to the room, we’d get a $5 credit, which we did.
After dinner, we stopped by the small store near check-in to grab some water and snacks. After browsing for several minutes, the woman at the front desk informed us that their system was down and she couldn’t sell us anything. We asked if she could bill it to our room once the system was back up, but she said no. Not a huge deal, we figured we’d just use the two 10 oz complimentary waters in the room.
However, upon checkout, I noticed a $10 “amenity charge” on our bill. When I asked about it, I was told it covered the two bottles of water, the $5 dining credit, and “other things.” That honestly felt ridiculous, if I’m paying for it, don’t call it an amenity.
All in all, we still had a decent time. It was nice to gamble a little, enjoy some good food, and relax afterward. Would I stay again? Maybe, but only if the price wasn’t over $200 a night, the room was worth $100 tops.
