We recently rented bicycles through Hilton Head Outfitters and both Angie, who checked us in and prepped us for the experience, and Latavis, who set us up with our bikes, baskets and lock, were extremely helpful in making our very first bike rental experience an easy and enjoyable one.
Ben was absolutely fantastic! Super nice, kind, and incredibly accommodating. He made the whole rental process smooth and easy, and his friendly attitude really stood out. Wonderful customer experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be coming back to rent from him again. Highly recommended!

Be careful renting from HH Outfitter - double-check your credit card charges!
I recently rented bikes from HH Outfitters and had a very disappointing experience. On day one, I rented a youth bike for 2 days. The next day, I went back to rent two more bikes. The lady at the front desk was extremely unfriendly and lacked basic customer service skills.
She asked for my phone number, and since I had rented the day before, my information was already in their system. I was shocked when she told me she would charge my card on file. I never gave permission for my credit card information to be stored in their system. That was my first red flag.
I went ahead with the rental, but I noticed she was taking unusually long with the charges I received a credit card authorization notification on my phone, then saw her trying to “fix” something in the computer. I assumed it was an error she was correcting.
I returned the bikes on time and that same day when I got home, I discovered an additional, completely incorrect charge in the amount of $159 (which was for three adult bikes with baskets for three days). I never rented that many bikes, nor did I have any with baskets. It appears someone else’s rental was charged to my card.
I’ve since called multiple times and sent emails, and no one has responded. This is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of accountability or care for customers. Storing someone’s credit card information without consent and then incorrectly charging it is beyond unprofessional.
Mistakes can happen, but ignoring customers and failing to correct a clear error is unacceptable. I will be disputing this charge and filing complaints as needed. Very disappointed and will never rent from HH Outfitters again.

Over charged by $118.00
No apologies and was told I could take care of it when I returned home! Not one time did the lady say I’m sorry either day. I had to follow up on day 4 to ask for a refund and she said I don’t provide an email. I was never asked to give it or I would have! The manager was kind but it’s now going to be 7-8 days before I am refunded my $118.00! We rent from here every year with no issues. Please hire people with people skills or knowledge of owing a mistake. They happen!! But when you as the customer have to follow up with where your money is it leaves a negative impact on whether you’ll rent bikes from here again. Our business will go somewhere else from now on! Do not rent from here!!!!
