In addition to routine wellness care, we are also one of the premier facilities specializing in reproductive and breeding services for all species of dogs and cats. Led by Board-Certified Theriogenologist (reproductive specialist) Dr. Carla Barstow, our compassionate and experienced team looks forward to serving you and your pets for any needs you may have. Highland Pet Hospital was founded more than 30 years ago by Dr. Beverly Brimacomb. We're proud to carry on Dr. Brimacomb's legacy of providing outstanding care in both general practice and reproductive services across Polk County FL, Lakeland FL, Bartow FL, Winter Haven FL.

When I called, Dr. Carla Barstow got us in right away and was so kind and caring. She gave us a clear diagnosis and a plan for treatment that finally made sense. Every single person we met was amazing. The staff were friendly, patient, and really knew what they were doing. Charlie loved everyone and felt so comfortable the whole time, which meant so much to me. I’ll definitely keep bringing her here. I can’t recommend Highland Pet Hospital enough!

- JWJachael WilsonJun 18, 20253.0I got an X-ray here for my very pregnant dog. The front staff was nice. Unfortunately they gave me an improper puppy count (the sole purpose of my visit). So I'm disappointed I paid almost $200 for a visit where the information they gave me was incorrect. The doctor was "nice" but didn't really let me speak and I felt like my appointment was rushed.

We have been through a tough loss with one of our fur babies to having puppies in the office via c section. Each and every time was hands down the best experience. I will never EVER go to another vet as long as Dr. Barstow is there. She is just so amazing at what she does. She is calming. She is friendly. She has a personality. She makes you feel at ease. I just love this vet and the people there. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT THIS VET 🫶🐾
