  My dog Ludo and I had such a positive experience with Dr Lera. He really takes the time to thoroughly explain things and connect with the animal so they feel comfortable with him. He is an XL American Bully and looks intimidating but is the biggest baby and Lera treated him just like the big baby he is. The staff was kind and welcoming and very easy to communicate with both on the phone and in person. We will definitely be back and recommending to friends.

  I cannot say enough wonderful things about Heron Lakes Animal Hospital. My dog, Zola, recently developed an issue with her cornea, and from the moment we walked through the door, the entire team made us feel cared for and at ease. They quickly assessed the situation, ran the necessary tests, and walked me through everything with clarity and compassion. The staff was not only professional but also incredibly kind and attentive 🩷 Zola was treated with so much love and patience. The veterinarian was absolutely amazing, taking the time to explain the diagnosis, answer all of my questions, and ensure I felt confident in the next steps for Zola’s care. Everything about the visit was efficient, yet I never once felt rushed. It’s rare to find a place where both the medical expertise and genuine compassion are so perfectly balanced. I am beyond grateful to have such a dedicated and friendly team taking care of Zola. HeronLakes Animal Hospital has truly earned my highest recommendation.

  I love this animal hospital/the vet and all the workers are exceptionally helpful and kind. Been coming since 2022. This place feels like home. Dr. Lera is the best!

  We brought our puppy in after dealing with stomach issues that weren’t improving with our previous vet. From the start, Dr. Lera took the time to listen and made us feel like our concerns were being heard. He explained his recommendations clearly and put together a plan that finally addressed the problem. Within just a day, our dog was already showing improvement. It was such a relief to find a vet who combines medical expertise with compassion. The staff was welcoming and professional, and the whole experience gave us so much confidence that our pup was in the right hands. We’re grateful to have found this office and highly recommend it to anyone looking for attentive, thoughtful care for their pets.

  Dr. Lera is amazing and one of the most understanding people you will ever meet. He helped me with my dog's TECA-BO surgery, which involves removing the infected ear canal. We were initially anxious about how our dog would respond, but it turned out much better than we could have imagined. I would highly recommend visiting them because they are not a cash grab like most other veterinarians and they will primarily work with you, which is the key to having people return. Thank you for everything you have done for us.
