  Under the most stressful conditions, the HH crew at Foster delivers friendly customer service EVERY TIME. The bagels are great, too. (my favorite is a salt bagel with eggs, cheddar cheese, cream cheese (!), and hot sauce.)

  GREAT BAGELS BUT LOUSY SEATING FOR FAT PEOPLE Honestly the best bagels in Portland. And the staff is super nice. If you're fat, though, you may want to do takeout; the seating is not good. There are six or seven stools, but only two of them feel sturdy and have full sized seats (and those are always taken first by other customers, understandably). There are two small tables, with metal chairs with armrests that have metal bars going down to the seats, which if you're fat will painfully press into your hips (if you can get in the seat at all). Finally, there's a picnic table outside with attached benches. If you're comfortable with those, it's honestly the best place to sit - unless it's raining. I wish restaurant owners and designers would remember that fat customers exist. But, again, delicious bagels.

  Perfectly fine bagels but indistinguishable from any other bagel shop. The only difference is that my wife and I both had to remove about 2/3 of the cream cheese, though I guess that’s better than the other way around.
