Called on May 25 to schedule an estimate for a complete home re-tile and bathroom remodel. Needed to make it well in advance because I was taking time off work and had to give them notice before the 2 day drive to Florida. Appointment was made for July 23 at 10am. It is now 2:45pm and no call, no show. Tried calling a couple times to ask if they were showing up, phone just disconnects after a few rings.

I really can’t say enough about John, Deborah and the entire crew from Harbor Home Services. Our remodel exceeded our expectations. John took all of our ideas and improved them. He kept us very updated on when the cabinets would arrive and when the install would begin as well as what to expect at every phase of the remodel. The crew was amazing, courteous, helpful and professional. They kept in mind that we were living here during the remodel and cleaned up daily before leaving. This was no simple pop out one set of cabinets and install new ones. They rerouted vents, AC , lighting and reworked what was before a simple pantry closet into a much more functional pantry cabinet system. I gained a good deal of extra storage space as well. The addition of the indirect lighting that John suggested really sets off our new kitchen. We are very happy customers !
Frequently Asked Questions About Harbor Home Services
How long does a kitchen renovation take?
Kitchen renovation timelines vary based on several factors. From material selection to project completion, expect the process to span several weeks. Custom cabinets typically require 8-10 weeks for construction. The scope of renovation, material availability, and contractor schedules all impact the project duration. Once materials are ready and demolition is complete, the installation phase generally takes a few weeks.
What can I do to plan for a kitchen remodel?
To begin planning your kitchen remodel, gather design inspiration from magazines or online sources to establish your preferred style. Having a clear vision will streamline the process. After narrowing down options, schedule a consultation with a professional to discuss your ideas. Prior to work commencement, ensure the area is cleared of personal belongings in preparation for the work crew's arrival.
What are the typical stages of kitchen remodeling?
Kitchen remodeling typically progresses through several stages: demolition, plumbing updates, electrical work, drywall installation, painting, flooring installation, cabinetry installation, countertop placement, backsplash addition, and finally, appliance installation and hardware fitting. Our team will guide you through each stage, providing regular updates on the project's progress.
Will remodeling a kitchen add value to my home?
Kitchen remodeling generally increases home value, although the exact amount can vary. As a central feature of the home, kitchen improvements often yield significant returns on investment. However, it's important to note that the full cost of renovation may not be recouped in increased home value. Despite this, the benefits of a renovated kitchen extend beyond monetary value, enhancing overall home functionality and appeal.
Do I need a permit to remodel a kitchen in Florida?
In Florida, kitchen remodeling projects often require permits, particularly for structural, electrical, or plumbing modifications. Minor cosmetic changes like cabinet or countertop replacement typically don't require permits. However, relocating plumbing or electrical lines, altering walls, or modifying structural elements usually necessitate permitting. It's advisable to consult your local building department for specific requirements, as regulations can differ between municipalities.
Is it better to reface or replace kitchen cabinets?
While refacing cabinets is less expensive than replacement, the cost savings may not justify the end result. Approximately 70% of cabinet costs are attributed to the doors. Consequently, in many cases, investing the additional 30% for entirely new cabinets may be more worthwhile, providing a complete update to your kitchen space.
