    Went and picked up my groceries today at the Hannaford’s on Central Avenue in Albany. I got a really good deal on meats. So if you get a chance to check it out, their meats are all on sale.

    Nice selection and big store. However the constant pushing by the employees so they can clock out at exactly 11pm is ridiculous. The associate made 7 announcements between 10:15pm and approached me while shopping at 10:50pm saying "we're closed, please come checkout." and pointed me to a register. It's also a bit annoying to be followed by "security" while shopping. If the store has an issue with re-usuable bags being brought in, then offer me bags for FREE at check-out. I'll gladly show any bag I bring in so just ask instead of assuming. I understand it's a high theft area I'm sure, but being treated like a criminal as soon as you set foot inside makes shopping harder.

    I’m a professional Shop & Deliver contractor with over 2,000 completed orders across NY and MA. This Hannaford is one of the only stores I’ve had repeated issues with—and specifically with one manager known to staff as Susan/Sue/Ms. S. She has loudly redirected me from self-checkout even when the store was empty, delaying my work and interfering with customers. On July 10, she yelled “I don’t give a damn!!” in front of staff and shoppers when I tried to explain her actions were disrupting the entire checkout process. Multiple employees (and even security) confirmed she was out of line. On July 24, she again confronted me—unprovoked—while the store was empty, and told me I hadn’t contacted corporate (I had). Two staff members later whispered her name to me and thanked me for working so hard. This behavior is not only unprofessional but reflects poor leadership and is damaging your store’s flow, morale, and reputation. I’ve submitted a full corporate complaint and will continue documenting until real change is made. Regular customers and other Dashers—if you’ve had issues with this manager, speak up. Silence is what keeps toxic staff in place.
