  The store was well-organized and clean, the staff was friendly, and there were so many interesting books (and other items like bookmarks) to look at! I went with a group, and we all ended up leaving with at least one thing. I found books in great condition for good prices. I also ended up with a little journal and a gift for a friend. I would highly recommend this bookstore to anyone and I feel like it has something for everyone

  This was such a dissapointment! I heard great things about HPB, such as the really large selection of second-hand books and the great deals. They have a big selection of second-hand books but not as large as reviews made it out to be and the deals were not good at all, making it better to just buy new, which is such a shame. The setting is also very outdated and not nice or cozy (what you would expect from a bookstore).

  DO NOT SELL BOOKS TO HPB I just brought a trunk full of books to sell and got a few dollars. After sorting through the books and taking what they wanted to resell, they proceeded to TAKE THE REMAINING BOOKS TO THE DUMPSTER. I asked to just have the books back as they were in great condition and could go to other stores, to schools, to little libraries. These were high quality children's books. The employee rudely stated they have a policy that they cannot give books back after sorting. And dumped them in the trash. There was real value in these books and if HPB can't resell them fine but what could be the problem in giving them back to me versus just trashing them? Kids WOULD have read those books and HPB chooses to destroy them instead. Shame on HPB and the callous employees. Anyone who loves books should never shop at or sell to HPB.
