I just wanted a trim and to redefine my long layers, but the girl who cut my hair botched it so badly. She started my layers 3 inches above the bottom and they were so uneven and chunky. I’m not saying this to be mean, but it literally looked like a toddler took scissors to my hair. I asked for a refund which gratefully they gave me. I went to a higher end salon and was told by the new stylist, in her 10 years cutting hair she had never seen a cut that bad! I realize that the girl who cut it was probably inexperienced, but what got me was the manager walking by after she finished the cut and saying “how cute” it was and that she did a good job. It was very obviously not cute and not a good job. After all was said and done I had to cut off 5 inches just to get it to look normal again.

This was the first time I took my daughter to get her hair cut, I was ready to do whatever I needed to keep her calm but her Stylist Burklie had her calm and happy the whole time. My daughter was making everybody laugh with her silliness, and she was very happy with her hair cut!
My hair was cut by Makenzie and I liked it a lot, much better than it was. Both ladies did great, thank you.

I usually like the convenience of Great Clips’ online check-in, but this time was very frustrating. The app showed a 95-minute wait, so I planned my visit accordingly. When it got down to about 20 minutes, I headed to the salon. By the time I arrived, it said 10 minutes left—but I ended up waiting over 30 minutes after checking in.
What made it worse was watching stylists spend a lot of extra time chatting with customers instead of focusing on the haircut. While I understand friendly service is part of the experience, it felt inconsiderate to those of us waiting, especially since the app’s time estimates were already so far off.
The whole point of checking in online is to save time, but it didn’t work out that way here.

I’ve been coming to this Great Clips location since it first opened and have generally had positive experiences—until today.
I checked in via the app for both myself and my son. After receiving the “You’re up in 15 minutes, walk on in” notification, we drove over (about a 10-minute drive). When we arrived, there were two stylists currently working on clients and two people in the waiting area (I could see only one was listed ahead of us, so I assumed the other was a walk-in).
Both stylists appeared to be relatively new, working very slowly despite handling standard men’s haircuts. About 30 minutes later, my son was finally called up. Ten minutes after that, the other stylist (Mackenzie) finished with her customer, then took her time ringing him up. After he left, she walked over to the remaining person in the waiting area—apparently her boyfriend—kissed him, and chatted with him for around five minutes.
Eventually, she returned to her station, slowly cleaned up, and invited her boyfriend to sit at the next station to continue their conversation. Another five minutes passed before she casually walked to the front and finally called me up—45 minutes after my original check-in time. Not once did she acknowledge or apologize for the delay.
The haircut itself was mediocre, but the customer service was what really stood out—in all the wrong ways. There was no urgency, no professionalism, and frankly, no respect for customers’ time. The PDA and personal conversation in a professional setting were entirely inappropriate.
I hope management will take this feedback seriously and work with this stylist on improving her professionalism and customer awareness. I’d like to continue coming here, but today’s experience made me question whether that’s worth it.
