My initial goal was to fix the slice on my driver, and Jacob succeeded in that completely. Beyond that, I also saw several other improvements I hadn’t even expected when I started the lessons. Jacob’s approach struck a perfect balance. He’s incredibly kind, professional, and personable, making every lesson enjoyable. He always came prepared, and I left each lesson with clear takeaways to work on between sessions, which helped me maintain steady progress. What stood out most was how Jacob met me exactly where I was skill-wise. Despite any errant shanks or off shots, I never felt judged or pressured. It was clear he cared deeply about helping me improve, but equally important, he made sure I enjoyed the process without getting frustrated with myself, something I really appreciated. He also did a great job explaining the rationale behind his recommendations, even including some math when I asked for it. During club fittings and sales conversations, I didn’t feel any pressure or overselling, which was a concern I had going in. That honesty and respect went a long way. If I ever decide to take lessons again, Jacob will be my go-to instructor for sure. Meanwhile, I’m energized and motivated to practice and play more, and my skill level reflects that growth. I’ve gone from scoring well over 100 each round to now aiming to break 90, which is a significant milestone for me. Thanks, Jacob, for a fantastic experience and real results. I appreciate his clear and effective coaching style—especially the video analysis he provides after each lesson, which I can review anytime through the app. The indoor simulator bays are a great way to practice, and the motion capture technology helps reinforce what we worked on in our sessions. GOLFTEC is more expensive than some other coaches in terms of cost per hour of instruction, but I think it’s worth it when you account for the quality of instruction and the value of the extra services like the app and the ability to come in and use the bays for practice sessions. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their game in a focused, tech-driven environment!

I was a 10 handicap when I stopped and am now returning as a 21 (quite disappointed at how fast one loses skills). That said, I signed up skeptically, for a 5 pack lesson after my initial swing evaluation gained me 40 yards on my driver alone. I have now had 3 lessons and could not be more satisfied at how well Andrew saw and corrected my swing, vision and putting issues. He has helped me understand easy remedies and has taken my golf game back to (if not better) than before. I am playing the senior tees for now, but if this keeps up, I will definitely be moving back to the longer tees. and do not doubt that I will approach a single digit handicap. I can't recommend Golftec Durham and Andrew Lavely enough!!! Truly a professional who knows his business. Thank you Andrew and I'll be seeing you more.

Why do I need a Swing Evaluation
The Swing Evaluation gives both Coach and student a clear visual and numerical baseline for both indicating where improvement is necessary and measuring the improvement. We highly recommend the Swing Evaluation for every student, from beginner to competitive player. It allows us to understand your current swing and goals and helps determine the right lesson plan for you.
Are your lessons expensive?
Prices vary by the lesson plan, features included, and region, but they are highly competitive with teaching professionals in each area. However, each GOLFTEC Student will start with a Swing Evaluation which is $150.
Do you teach beginners?
We love teaching golfers who are just picking up the sport! Our coaches understand the unique needs of beginners and know how to make their sessions comfortable and enjoyable.
Can I take lessons at any location?
Absolutely! Your Coach will be able to help you find another Center and Coach. You can also use any GOLFTEC location when you are traveling.
Can I take lessons outdoors?
On-course instruction on specific shots and course management are a great complement to in-bay swing lessons and are offered at most locations.
Will you change my swing?
Changes to your swing may be necessary given your specific golfing problems and goals. We begin with your current swing and work on adjustments to make it more effective and productive.
Does GOLFTEC sell clubs?
Yes. We will order clubs based on your TECFIT club fitting or your specifications if you choose not to have a fitting. With our large buying power and relationships with leading manufacturers, we can sell custom clubs for the same price that you would pay for off-the-rack clubs at many retailers.
How is your club fitting different from others?
Our TECFIT club fitting system provides a precision, agnostic fitting experience. All GOLFTEC Certified Fitters use our advanced launch monitor technology to measure your unique launch conditions. While most other fitters stop there, we utilize our proprietary equipment database of thousands of club/shaft combinations to identify the perfect club configuration to optimize performance based on your swing. Clubs fit and built to your unique swing DNA will lead to greater consistency, distance, and confidence on the golf course.
