- CBC BAug 13, 20225.0I had a Generac generator and transfer switch installed by an electrician who used to live in Simi. The power never went out so it never came on. After realizing it wasn't doing the self-test, I took a look and saw it had a red and yellow light where it should have been green. I saw an ad for GenStar Power Systems and spoke with Steve Poore, the owner. Steve is fabulous to work with. He came over quickly with one of his electricians to see what the problem was. After a thorough exam, it was decided that the transfer switch was not wired correctly so Steve brought in Walt who spent about 2 hours rewiring the switch and testing. The power went off 2 days ago and the generator came on within seconds and the whole house powered up within a couple of minutes. I can't over emphasize how great it is to work with Steve and his electricians. They are knowledgeable, efficient, and fair priced.
