- SJsharon jonesNov 9, 20252.0Had my Benz CLS550 towed to Gateway. It was at Advanced Auto in Stanwood who confirmed it was leaking transmission fluid. They gave me a quote on a transmission overhaul. But because they dont work on them, i had it towed to Gateway. Gateway immediatley started looking at engine oil leaks, ignoring the report of trans fluid leak. They kept my car 2 weeks, and $4500 later, i picked up my car, was told it needed transmission work but that they stopped the leaks. The next morning there were transmission fluid puddles in my garage. Essentially, they returned my car in the same condition as when it was towed to them. I used Gateway for a mercedes I had in the early 2000s. They had a great crew of knowledable people back then. Unlike todays crew who knew damn well it was a bad transmission but went ahead and just jacked up the hours and the pricing, the old crew had standards and ethics.
