Tried this all-vegan spot recently, overall a good experience! The vegan omelet was made from lentils, which was an interesting twist. It was flavorful but a bit dense. The rice balls were the highlight, crispy on the outside, soft and delicious inside, and paired nicely with the sauce.
The ambiance was nice and casual, perfect for a relaxed brunch. The plating was also really pretty they add thoughtful touches like fresh fruit and edible flowers.
A solid place to try if you’re looking for a fully vegan meal! 🌱🍽️
OMG Gaia & Loki... you were the only restaurant I ate while in Jersey City and I am okay with that. Simply put: everything was amazing.
I called ahead for a party of ten over a weekend brunch and they were very accommodating. With it raining, I was worried they'd be booked up but they were able to make space and welcome us into their cute, eclectic restaurant.
The menu was vast and filled with American favorites including sandwiches, texmex, waffles, pancakes, and more. They also had a few specialty items including a Fried Oyster Mushroom and Waffles combo, which I ultimately ended up ordering. The mushroom was fried to golden perfection and the waffle was one of the best vegan ones I've ever had. It was so much food on one plate that I barely finished it myself.
I also loved how the owner came by to check in on us and even offered us small bowls of honeydew that they had just gotten. This was so appreciated while we were perusing the menu since we were so hungry walking into the shop.
My friends who are not vegan were also raving about the food, with one ending up ordering dessert for himself... and he never does such a thing while dining out! That's when I knew we all gave them our seal of approval.
I couldn't have been happier with this choice of eating here for brunch and would come back again the next time I'm in Jersey City.

Walked into Gaia & Loki as an impromptu with no expectations and left completely impressed. This was hands down one of the best vegan meals I’ve ever had. I’ve never really liked pesto before but their pesto pasta completely changed that. It was full of flavor and felt like the sauce was made fresh in-house.
Started with maple wood smoked beets tartare with avocado and the grilled cheese with tomato soup. The cheese was made with chickpea and paired so well with the creamy soup. Every bite had so much depth and warmth.
Even though we didn’t have a reservation, the staff welcomed us in without hesitation. The person who helped us was genuinely kind and made the experience feel very personal. The owner even came by to check on us and you could tell they really care about the guests and the food they serve.
One unexpected highlight was the restroom. Sounds random, but they’ve clearly put a lot of love into the design and details of the entire space. It’s rare that I ever compliment a restaurant restroom but this one stood out.
Not sure if it’s family-run but the vibe and quality make it feel like it is. Will absolutely be going back to try the rest of the menu. Thank you Gaia and Loki for such a memorable experience.
This place used to be on my favourite list. Idk who cooked last night, but the food def didn’t taste like what it used to in the last couple times I’be been there since they opened. Spring rolls tasted burnt. The marinara sauce was overly sweet. The pineapple rice was good and so were the empanadas. The beyond meatballs with overly sweet tomato sauce was such a kill joy.
My server was very sweet and helpful. The ambience was nice as always.

We moved to Jersey city in March, and were exploring the city and couldn’t find great flavorful food and healthy clean eats. Whether you are a vegan or just in search of great food THIS is the place to be. Amazing pastas (the spicy pasta and the bolognese are our favorites), the spinach and mushrooms empanadas, the Mexican soup, the beet tartar, and the vegan chikn burger and the portabello burgers are juicy crispy and filled with flavor. You can’t go wrong here. ALSO BYOB!
