Definitely not the same since Thousand Trails took over. Used to be a great campground with plenty of activities and amenities for the kids!
Not a good value at all.
Started by getting to my site, it was flooded, fire pit was full, and there was garbage on the site. Sadly when mentioned, I was told, yeah, someone just checked out! Check out was 11, I didn't get there until 130. No one had checked it. Maintenance came to look at flooding issue, pulled up, said, "yeah, this isn't gonna work." He then drove off. When into the office spoke with Dee, she was kind and tried hard but I feel that she was trying to cover and make excuses for her lacking management Dee was able to help me get into a different site, but it was not what I had requested or reserved- which you pay $20 extra to do! Unfortunately, issues remained, the electrical box was not fully operational, Maintenance came by reset the breaker and drove away. Gee thanks, like I hadn't already done that! Tested it and it still didn't work. Thankfully they called in a competent speedy electrician who was able to resolve the issue.
I had one interaction with the manager, but felt the issue was only addressed because I caught her off guard. Seemed very dismissive or overwhelmed with so many other issues.
The store is pretty much empty, advising its end of season so they didn't restock. No bottled water, 3 sodas, etc... They did have 20% all park merchandise, but I don't really want to advertise for them.
Many things were out of order or in need of repair- slide has a leak in the landing pool- out of order, bathrooms, tho visited regularly by staff had no soap, jumping pillow was out of service, and the mini golf course needed serious attention and cleaning.
I am still waiting on a refund for the site difference and reservation request fee that I was told would take place Friday.
Again, Dee was as helpful as she could be and it was all very much appreciated. The young staff sadly was not personable and spent more time on cell phones on reading books than attending to guests.
If you go, make sure to check your suspension systems, even at 5mph your vehicle will take a beating with the large uncared for pot holes.
If you are looking for a place to take your family for a care free, kid friendly get away, unfortunately this campground is not it.
Gone are the days when it was Jellystone and a great destination. Keep driving by!
