Excellent company. The crew was on time. Very efficient & transparent on pricing.
My door was repaired by precision garage doors about two years ago. The spring they put on broke. The crew from Fred C. Johnson went above any beyond. They weighed my door to ensure they were putting on the proper springs. They consulted with a senior tech to ensure the repairs were done properly. They determined they needed larger springs and had them delivered to my house by another team member in about 30 minutes.
I would highly recommend Fred C. Johnson to anyone who needs a door repaired or needs a new garage door. The customer service and skills are by far the most premier of any company in the area. Thank you for the excellent work and customer service!!!

I recently had a very positive experience with Fred C. Johnson Garage Doors. I dealt with Rebecca (office), Rob (estimator), and Luke and Logan (installers), all of whom were courteous and respectful. When I first called, Rebecca was very helpful. I told her I was trying to decide whether to fix the old doors or buy new. She went over what we would need, and what it would cost, to repair the old. She said she would have an estimator call me for information about new doors. When I spoke with Rob on the phone, I told him I was interested in the most economical doors. He didn't try to upsell at all, just gave me the price. I truly appreciated him being respectful of my budget. Once he was here, I asked Rob if there was anything else I should consider, and he explained why I may want to consider R-6 insulation for a small added cost. Rob answered all my questions and quoted what I felt was a fair price. The project was scheduled for just a few days after I called the office. On the morning of the installation, Luke and Logan arrived at the scheduled time and worked diligently and efficiently. Luke, as the lead installer, was very understanding when I told him I had some physical limitations. After the doors were installed, he spent a few extra minutes making sure that I could open and close each of the doors, from both the inside and the outside. This involved adjusting the tension and attaching ropes to pull the doors down. The new doors look great - I've had a number of compliments from family and friends. As you can see, Fred C. Johnson has been a great company to deal with. I highly recommend it!

Frequently Asked Questions About Fred C. Johnson Co., INC
what brands do you work with?
We install and service top brands like Clopay, CHI Overhead Doors, and LiftMaster, but we also repair all other makes and models.
Why did my garage door spring break?
Garage door springs endure significant tension and typically last about 10,000 cycles (one cycle = one open and close). Over time, they can wear out due to regular use, rust, or lack of maintenance. Replacing springs is dangerous and should be handled by professionals.
Can I replace just one broken spring?
While it's possible, it's recommended to replace both springs simultaneously. Springs wear out at similar rates, and replacing both ensures balanced door operation and prevents future issues.
How often should I service my garage door?
It's advisable to have your garage door professionally inspected and serviced at least once a year. Regular maintenance includes lubricating moving parts, checking spring tension, and ensuring safety features function correctly.
What should I do if my garage door is noisy?
Noises often result from loose hardware, worn rollers, or lack of lubrication. Tighten any loose bolts and apply a silicone-based lubricant to hinges, rollers, and tracks. If noise persists, a professional inspection may be necessary.
How much does garage door repair typically cost?
Repair costs vary based on the issue. For instance, spring replacements can range from $150 to $350, while other repairs like cable replacements or sensor alignments may differ. It's best to obtain a custom Free quote from Fred C Johnson to get the lowest price for your seciifc need.
Can I replace a single damaged panel, or do I need a new door?
If only one panel is damaged and the rest of the door is in good condition, replacing just that panel is definately feasible. However, availability depends on the door's make and model, call Fred C Johnson with yoru make & model for free quote.
Why is my garage door remote not working?
Common reasons include dead batteries, signal interference, or the need for reprogramming. Replace the batteries first. If issues persist, contact Fred C Johnson and tell us about your particular issue.
What types of garage door openers are available?
There are several types: chain-drive (durable and affordable), belt-drive (quiet operation), screw-drive (fewer moving parts), and jackshaft (mounted on the wall, ideal for high ceilings). The best choice depends on your specific needs and garage setup
