The staff at Franklin Clock Shop in Elmsford, New York, specializes in services, sales, and repairs of grandfather clocks. We make house calls and offer in-home repairs upon request for grandfather clocks.
I highly recommend Franklin clock shop for new clocks and/or clock and watch repair. They have a terrific selection of older and newer clocks. I went for a watch repair that I'd been told was impossible/very costly at two other locations but the technician at Franklin Clock Shop happily performed the repair in minutes for a very low cost. He clearly was just interested in helping me and not only motivated by a high margin sale. I am very grateful that I found this honest and kind vendor.

Long story. I tried to find someone who can replace the battery and strap of my Orient watch in White Plains. I only found a fancy jewelry and watch store in a mall that charged $35 and not sure if they can do it. Then I found Franklin Clock Shop and decided to give it a shot. I made a phone call, and the technician simply said he can do it. I took a 25-minute bus, and it totally worths it. The Indian (I guess) technician is probably the coolest guy I have ever seen. He did not speak much and just started the work. He was so fast and precise like a watchmaker version of John Wick. It took less than 10 minutes for battery and strap replacement and $15 charge. I also like the vintage atmosphere of the store.
If you do not care about the fancy store and just want to find someone who can get the job done quickly and nicely with affordable price, this is the place.

It is certainly an interesting place and they are knowledgeable and competent, I think. I took a very old Connecticut made click there in order to get it running better. The bill was nearly a thousand dollars, which was a shock. My fault, I guess, for not asking for a writen estimate.

My 19th century mantle clock - a gift from my grandmother - stopped running. The clock was completely taken apart, the problems all identified, fixed, then reassembled. It is really a pleasure knowing that craftsmen of this quality still exist, and I hope they stay in this location - without free parking - if it helps them afford to remain in business.
