My partner and I recently set out to purchase an Ice House RV and had high hopes after finding a promising listing through Facebook Marketplace, posted by Camping World / Forest River RV. What we expected to be an exciting step in our outdoor lifestyle turned into an incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience.
From the beginning, communication seemed promising. We engaged in several messages with a sales representative named Dylan and made the drive down with full intent to view and purchase the listed Ice House. Upon arrival, however, we were met with complete disregard. No staff member greeted us until we physically walked into the building, despite our interest being confirmed and our arrival anticipated.
Once inside, we asked to speak with Dylan, who was clearly unprepared for our visit. Nonetheless, we spent the entirety of our Saturday discussing financing options and negotiating terms. After what we believed to be a successful conversation and a handshake agreement to finalize the deal, we were told the final paperwork would be completed on Monday. As enthusiastic buyers, we made plans to pick up the Ice House that very afternoon.
Unfortunately, what followed was a complete breakdown in communication and customer service. My partner placed multiple calls on Monday to follow up, only to be met with radio silence. Neither Dylan nor the assigned financial advisor returned calls or provided any updates. We trusted the handshake agreement as a formal commitment to the purchase — especially after hours of negotiation. To our shock and deep disappointment, we received word nine days later that the Ice House had been sold to someone else.
This experience has left us feeling not only misled but deeply frustrated. For a company representing reputable brands like Forest River and operating under the Camping World umbrella, we expected far greater professionalism, communication, and customer respect.
We urge future customers to proceed with caution. A handshake should never be taken lightly — especially so late in the buying process. If you're investing your time, energy, and trust into making a major purchase like an RV or Ice House, make sure you're dealing with a team that values your business. Regrettably, we cannot recommend this location based on our experience.
