As a disabled military veteran managing PTSD, I rely on my emotional support animal for comfort, especially at night. I recently visited my mother at this apartment complex, traveling in my camper van—a vehicle I occasionally use to travel. We believed it would be fine, as other similar vehicles are continuously parked on the property. Especially since I was not camping in the parking lot, but simply using the vehicle as a means to visit my mother.
However, within just a couple of days, my mother received a harsh and immediate notice threatening eviction due to my vehicle and support animal—no warning, no attempt at communication, and no opportunity to explain. To avoid further issues for my mother, I cut my visit short and left the next morning. Despite our quick compliance, she received a lease non-renewal notice less than 24 hours later. Even after the incident was resolved, other camper vehicles continue to park freely without issue.
During this brief visit, staff members were verbally rude to my sister while she was walking the dog and made no attempt to respectfully ask any questions or clarify the situation. Their treatment of us came across as discriminatory, unprofessional, and entirely inappropriate.
If you're looking for a place that welcomes family, respects guests, and handles situations with basic human decency, this is not it. No amenity is worth the stress and discomfort we experienced. I strongly caution others—especially veterans, individuals with support animals, or anyone who values a welcoming community—from choosing this complex.

I live in this community and unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing and discriminatory. I’ve been unfairly targeted for things that other tenants are allowed to do without issue.
I received a violation notice when my son came to visit and parked his camper on the premises , which i have no probelm abiding by the rule— yet other tenants have campers parked regularly without any problem. I even took photos to prove the inconsistency.
On top of that, my son brought his certified emotional support pit bull for a short two-day visit, and I was immediately told the dog had to be removed. This is not only unfair, it violates rights around support animals. The office manager came and spoke ill will to my daughter and shouted you have to get this dog out of here. So unprofessional!
Then I was told my own dog barks too much — yet if you walk around the entire community, barking dogs are everywhere, including the one right next door to me who barks constantly. My attorney made it clear: if you allow dogs in the community, you have to expect some barking.
Finally, I received a letter saying my lease would not be renewed, and when I asked why, I was told they didn’t have to give a reason. I know what this is — it’s racial profiling and discrimination, plain and simple.
I’m relieved to be leaving, but I want others to know the truth about what’s happening here. No one should be made to feel singled out, disrespected, or treated unfairly in their own home.
Leslie,
I am writing to express how truly appalled I am by the way I have been treated during my short time as a tenant in this community.
As a new resident, I made every effort to comply with community rules and respond respectfully to any concerns brought to my attention. When I was contacted about my dog barking in the garage, I immediately took action and restricted her access to the garage area in full compliance with your request.
However, during your visit to my unit, I felt judged and unfairly targeted. You quickly assumed that both the pit bull and the other dog—who you referred to as "the black dog"—belonged to me. You also assumed the camper on the premises was mine. I calmly explained that the pit bull is my son’s certified support animal and that he was only visiting briefly. As for the camper, I immediately asked him to move it to the Publix parking lot, and he did so without issue. As a matter of fact, I called the office and spoke with you to remind you to come and check my unit. Your reply was "Oh yes that's right I have to that. I never had a problem with abiding by the community rules.
At no point did I push back or refuse to cooperate. Despite this, I was later informed that my lease would not be renewed. No valid explanation was provided, and the decision has now forced me to uproot my family and belongings. To be honest, this feels unjust and, frankly, quite ruthless.
Did I complain about the dog that attacked me while it was off-leash? Yes, I did.
Did I report when the neighbor aggressively approached Adolfo and used racial slurs? Absolutely.
Did I bring up the issue of a neighbor consistently leaving dog feces right in front of her door? Of course — and rightfully so.
But one thing I will never complain about is dogs barking during the day. Why? Because we live in a dog-friendly community, and barking is to be expected. That’s part of what comes with having dogs around, and it’s completely normal.
I came into this community with the hope of making it a home, and instead, I have felt unfairly judged, singled out, and pushed out. I sincerely hope that future tenants are treated with more fairness and empathy.
I’ve lived at Floresta for over a year and absolutely love living here! The apartments are beautiful, amenities are great and staff is always super sweet and helpful! Maintenance is really quick and does a good job fixing any issues. I’ve lived in several other complexes in the area and Floresta is by far the best one! Worth every penny to live in this community. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great apartment or townhome!
