Because First Florida does not have stockholders, "people before profits" is alive and well. Earnings are returned to members in the form of lower rates and fees, in addition to higher earnings on deposits.

However, this past week, I noticed a new decor and rudeness I had never encountered here before. The supervisor/manager never even looked up as clients stood unaddressed in line. Another teller, continued working at the window and never once acknowledged those waiting. Finally, a teller asked if she could help. She was very courteous and appeared to be in training. She had to ask a question and the supervisor appeared strained to have to take the time to answer her. Seems the perfect time to make the switch to online banking. No exposure to rudeness and better rates.
