  It’s definitely not Phydeaux anymore. Much more limited selections on basic items like leashes and toys. Miss the old place.

  This location is perfect and they have a groomer there also! The customer service is awesome, I found out about this place due to the self wash option for dogs that come with shampoo, conditioners, and doggie perfume and I saw they have a groomer and had to try her out and she did great. They also have a rewards program that i love! As a fur mom I suggest you check it out !

  Good selection of pet supplies, but the birds were kept in such small cages with no enrichment. It was quite upsetting and we ended up leaving early. I wish this place only sold pet supplies.

  A drastically different experience from when it was Phydeaux. I was disappointed when they sold out to a large corporation from Kentucky but I was open to the change so I have tried to give this store a few shots since the switch a couple years ago. I am always happy to pay more for high quality products, but when the prices are going up and the quality is lowering… it’s very sad to see from a store that used to only put the highest quality products on the shelves. There really is no difference between this chain and the PetCos or PetSmarts. Since the ownership has changed, they have started selling caged birds that cry the whole time you shop as they are unhappy. They sell other animals including rabbits when Phydeaux cared enough for animals that they advocated for rescues and never sold animals in their stores. They also have put many items on the shelves that include ingredients such as “meat meal”. They are 100% profit over care for animals wellbeing . Hope we get another locally owned pet store in chapel hill someday soon.
