The room was not clean, the laminate was dirty. When I arrived in the shared bathroom there was hair everywhere and a trash can full of trash that was not thrown out until I left. Since the bathrooms are shared, at least they should be cleaned often. The location is great, but unfortunately that's all. The rooms are extremely cramped and it's very noisy all the time.
My wife and I have stayed at the Equinox Hotel several times and continue to love its design, comfort, and wellness-focused atmosphere. The rooms are immaculate, spacious by NYC standards, and beautifully minimalist — one of the most relaxing places to stay in Manhattan.
That said, this visit showed a few slips in consistency. Service remains friendly (big shout-out to the front desk at check-in, who were phenomenal). Still, the attention to detail has softened: the Dyson hairdryer has been replaced by a standard model, shower pressure was poor, and in-room dining, though quick, arrived with spilled wine. Breakfast the next morning was clearly understaffed, and service delays affected nearly every table.
The gym is still world-class, but beginning to show some wear, and the café area upstairs was closed and appliances were disconnected in the middle of the ktichen. Electric Lemon — the hotel bar — now closes around 10:30 PM, which is early by New York standards.
Overall, the Equinox Hotel remains one of the city’s most stylish, comfortable, and well-located luxury properties. With a bit more focus on consistency and service polish, it could easily reclaim its five-star standing.

4 stars because there were renovations going on and loud noises in my room. When I asked about the noises.. the answer was “we don’t hear anything”. That was disrespectful and dishonest.
Otherwise; this hotel is perfection

Only stayed here for one night on a quick trip, but can't wait to return. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location. (Don't miss a lovely walk on the high line just steps away) The staff was friendly and helpful, and our room (28th floor) was very comfortable, and the views are insane. We chose this hotel because we wanted access to a nice gym, and of course this place checks that box. I was a bit skeptical because we don't usually consider hotels and restaurants that have lower than a 4.5 rating on Google, but we booked this for the gym. Not sure why this hotel doesn't have better ratings. Our experience was fantastic. Will return!

Rooms are nice; however, the service and professionalism of the staff is greatly lacking. Staff rarely greet you or offer any sort of assistance. In particular, the front desk manager spoke in a condescending tone and was extremely unhelpful. The housekeepers repeatedly knocked on the door and attempted entry despite the privacy sign displayed. While there were a few exceptions with nice staff members, the majority need proper training on professionalism.
The sleep lab room was a cool concept but for the price of $2000 USD per night it’s not worth it. The only difference was a cooled/heated mattress and a $50-100 worth of sleep supplements. For the price, you can find a much better hotel for less.
The gym was as you would expect from an Equinox; however, every time I went it was packed and difficult to get a workout in due to how many people were waiting for machines.
Save yourself some money and stay at a better hotel.
