- JVJake Vinten-JohansenSep 26, 20253.0I have used Emerald Green for two years. They were not cheap, but they were very open with the cost of coverage plans, and the plans were very comprehensive. The first summer my lawn was overrun by crabgrass and goose grass, among a number of weeds. The technician indicated that the weather prevented them from applying pre-emergent on time. I accepted that. The aeration and reseeding in the fall were adequate, and provided good grass growth. This spring pre-emergent was applied on time, but the summer weeds grew with a vengeance, and dominated especially the west side of our lawn. On request the technician did apply Pyrex to kill the weeds, which was 100% weeds, so there was a large and visible dead spot. Sigh! In addition several very visible bare spots adjacent to our patio were left in that condition, with no attempt to grow grass, and no offer to do so. I wish they had attended to these bare areas on their own as this would have demonstrated initiative.,

If it rained right after my application, will the treatment still be effective?
Most of our lawn care products actually benefit from rainfall. Slow-release granular fertilizers and subsurface insecticides require water to be effective. However, our broadleaf weed control spray needs about 30 minutes to become rainfast. If it rains immediately after application, the effectiveness of this treatment may be reduced. Should you not observe weed curling within 14 days of application, please contact our office. We'll schedule a complimentary service call to reapply the weed control treatment at no additional cost.
How long will it take for weeds to disappear after EGI treats my lawn?
Typically, weeds begin to curl and die within 7 to 14 days following treatment. However, some weed species may require multiple applications and several months to fully eradicate. The speed of weed elimination is also influenced by temperature, with warmer conditions generally accelerating the process.
Do I need to do anything to prepare before my lawn gets treated?
To ensure optimal treatment, please ensure all gates are unlocked and all areas of your property are accessible. For safety reasons, please keep pets indoors on service days. Additionally, clear your lawn of any obstacles or debris that might interfere with the treatment process.
How soon can kids and pets use the lawn after treatment?
The lawn is safe for use once the treatment has dried completely, which typically takes between two to four hours. However, for optimal results and safety, we recommend limiting activity on the treated area for a full 24 hours post-application.
How soon can I mow my lawn after an application?
We advise waiting 24 to 48 hours after treatment before mowing your lawn. This waiting period is crucial as it allows sufficient time for broadleaf weed control products to be fully absorbed by the plants. Mowing too soon may reduce the effectiveness of the herbicide treatment.
How often will EGI treat my lawn?
Our standard lawn care program consists of six applications, spaced approximately six to eight weeks apart. For more specific information about our treatment schedule, please contact our office directly.
What if weeds appear between my lawn care services?
Customers enrolled in our comprehensive lawn care program are eligible for complimentary service calls. However, we recommend waiting 10 to 14 days before requesting a re-spray for weeds. This waiting period helps prevent potential damage to your lawn from over-treatment.
When can I expect to see results?
The timeline for visible improvements varies depending on your lawn's initial condition and specific needs. For severely neglected lawns, a full transformation may take up to 18 months. However, you should notice some improvements relatively quickly. Most weed control treatments show results within 7 to 14 days, while fertilizer effects, depending on environmental factors and product type, typically become apparent within a couple of weeks. During our initial lawn assessment, we'll provide a more accurate estimate of the expected timeline for your specific lawn.
