#1 rule: do not stay in the West Tower. We paid a crazy amount of Wyndham points to stay here for a week, and as VIP owners (supposedly) we specifically asked for a unit with a “nice view.” What we got is a nice view of busy Harbor Boulevard, and constant loud noise from that and McGuire’s Pub loud music, directly across the street. #2 rule: DO take numerous strolls down the Harbor Walk, directly accessible from the hotel. Check out all the boats, stores, kiosks, and eateries. #3 rule: DO take the shuttle boat ride to the Emerald Grande’s private beach. #3 rule: DO explore all areas of the resort property. There are so many things to do and see, from magic shows to live entertainment, to a quiet spot to sit and relax.

Very good location it’s an amazing place to stay if you don’t mind the slightly outdated hotel. Paint is cracking and peeling. The rooms and quite dated not the newest. They also don’t have very good bellman or room service. Guest service didn’t seem to have a lot of answers for any of my questions. I booked the sweetheart package for me and my wife and I had to wait an extra hour at check in for them to make the arrangements for the wine and rose pedals, which should of been ready upon arrival. The spa which was apart of the package was not able to be used due to their services being down. And instead of giving me a refund they offered a voucher to be used in the future. We rarely visit the same place twice making this voucher kind of useless for us. Other than that and the limited information they gave us about what they offer and the areas, even directions to our room. The place is pretty sweet. The pool is pretty small. But you can take their shuttle to the private beach. Which isn’t super nice since it’s on a slight hill making it awkward and uncomfortable to lay out or walk on. I recommend going down to crab trap on fort Walton beach! MUCH NICER even Henderson state park beach is nice. Also food is pretty pricey along the boardwalk so maybe go down to fort Walton and get something. MCGUIRES was by far the best place we ate at. Very good food and great service. We booked the penthouse and the floor was dirty had sand everywhere and other peoples hair on the floor they didn’t bother to mop or sweep before our arrival. And there was puke on the baseboards of our bathroom that wasn’t cleaned off. So not the best cleanliness.

To stay in the Emerald Grand, or NOT to stay in the Emerald Grand? That is the question that has brought you to this review. Well, if you want to pay an absurd amount of money for a “hotel” that doesn’t service your room (AT ALL), doesn’t have water on hand for their guests, and provides hands down the WORST guest services you could possibly imagine, than you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the Emerald Grand. Sure, the building is nice and well located along the coast but, that is as far as your expectations will take you. As soon as you come in, you’ll be waiting to be properly attended for a minute or five, or even ten, not because there’s a line, no, but because you’ll have to wait till Shawanda gets off her phone to assist you. Durning your check in, you’ll most likely hear the songs of other disgruntled guest birds complain about false advertised rooms and services that can’t be rectified, like the balcony room I paid for and did not get but, don’t worry! You’ll be given a $75 voucher for the inconvenience. After a day of diving with my wife, we returned to a room that had not been serviced. I called the front desk and asked, why wasn’t the room cleaned? They replied, “we don’t do that here”. Imagine my surprise when I was told a hotel doesn’t service their rooms. Later that night, after going out to dinner, my wife and I headed to the front desk to ask for some water. Well! Who was at the front desk you might ask? Who else but Shawanda and her 15 followers on TicTok. We kindly asked if we could get some bottles of water, the same bottles of water that are in your room when you first come in. She responds with, “we don’t have water.” Again, I was dumbfounded. But! She did say, “if we’re lucky, we can go down to harbor walk and pick up some water.” What hotel doesn’t provide water to their guests? Do yourself a favor. Save your money and stay ANYWHERE else but here.

We traveled down for Labor Day weekend 2025 and the trip did not start off so well. There were issues in our first room. The on-site staff Works quickly and got us moved, even with limited availability. By the second night because of the first night and other things, I still wasn't satisfied. We ended up speaking to the manager, Nicole. She was absolutely awesome! She listened, showed concerned, and ended up putting us in a room that was absolutely beautiful. I will say for the record. If you are looking for something more modern and aesthetically pleasing, I would definitely recommend Harbor suites. The condos are great and they serve the purpose for bigger parties but they are severely outdated, some of them. I think it is totally up to preference

Shan from night shift must not like to work. Because it did not matter if you called at night or in the morning before she left she did not want to do anything. I called at 8:30am for towels she told me to call back at 9 when they start cleaning the room. I said I need them now not at 9am. She would not budge on just telling someone to bring me towels. So I called back and now a different person answers she tells me that she will bring me towels the other shift seems to do that a lot. The next night. I ask for toilet paper. Shan again answers I Was told I had to go get it from the lobby. What type of resort is this? I have to get my own amenities from the lobby. She told me she was the only one there or I could wait until the morning. I said well I too am alone with sleeping children I can not leave. She did not care. I called back because I was so frustrated. Now Salene answers the line. So clearly Shan is not the only one there. I say this to salene and she now tells me ok someone will bring it. But just know it will be awhile. I’m like why would it be awhile. She could not answer and hung up. These ladies at guest services are a joke. Never have I ever in any resort had so many issues for simple request.
