This is gonna be a long winded review but one that is more than warranted. Back in 2017 I paid over 15,000 dollars for a Two stage Trane 18XL air conditioning system plus duct work. For the first 3-4 years it ran fine then the problems began. Condensate drain backup's that collapsed my ceiling twice due the the installer cracking the pan on install then three compressor failures for three years straight. Each time setting me back nearly 3,000 in labor and refrigerant cost. On the third failure when the original company said they couldn't give me a reason why and neither could the manufacturer(which ended up being a lie) and I had to either Jerry rig the outside with a non matching compressor unit for 6,000 or waste another 3,000 for another compressor I called Emerald air. I was recommended them by my spouses boss whom is a local businesses owner and loved them so I called several other companies as well for competing bids and options. What I learned was shocking. My old unit had all of those failures due to the previous company leaving inadequate clearance around my size unit causing it to work at its highest stage it's entire life. 2 companies and Trane themselves told me this and had they known about the install they never would have even have paid for the failed compressors even though it still cost me 3,000 grand each time. Michael from emerald air provided me with an option that sealed the deal by a manufacturer I had never heard of, Daikin. Daikins warranty was the deciding factor promising a 12 yrs parts and labor guarantee in writing that if any part of the outside unit fails they replace the entire unit on their Daikin Fit inverter systems. This is obviously their higher end model but faced with the phase out of 410a refrigerant it was only a 2,000 dollar difference between a much less efficient single stage unit running the new refridgerant that only offered a 6 yr warranty. The additional cost has turned out to be worth it especially with the 2,000 dollar tax credit I received that basically made it the same price as the less efficient unit. My results have been thus far nothing short of amazing. My power bills have been averaging between 100-200 dollars cheaper than the year prior with the supposed efficient Trane unit I paid dearly for. Not only that but during our snowmageddon in Jan 2025 it was a toasty 70 inside(my preferred temp) while it was 24 degrees with 5in of snow on the ground. I am beyond impressed with the Daikin Fit inverter system in terms of performance, efficiency, warranty and in terms of of noise it is the quietest air conditioning system I've ever had. Seriously, when the outside unit is running at its highest setting you can have a whisper conversation while standing right next to it. I'd also recommend spending the few extra dollars to have them install the added surge protection as these inverter a/c units are sensitive to voltage fluctuations and has probably saved my unit at least half a dozen times since install due to my neighborhoods antiquated electrical infrastructure that FPL hasn't updated. Moreover, Michael from emerald air is connected to my system remotely and receives alerts whenever I have an issue before I even know it and no matter how minor he contacts me to check on my system and make minor adjustments that have only improved my overall experience and the performance of my unit over time. Many times after hours with no additional cost. I cannot say enough positive things about this locally owned for over 40yrs business that not only provides the best service but also stand behind and offer their customers the best products and customer service possible. Daikin the Toyota of Air conditioning systems.
