Good food and great service, just how does a Mexican restaurant rin out of flan before 6:30??

What happened? This place used to be great but today was awful. Plenty of tables but they didn't seat us for 10 minutes. After we ordered the food came out 1 at a time. My husband had to ask for his tortillas 3 times so he could eat his food. Shouldn't have to ask for a drink refill but we did. No napkins. Flavorless food. Staff running around like crazy. And the best part of all, the waitress came to take our plates and thought she could carry them all and dumped salsa all over my husband. He was covered. We gave this place rave reviews to our son and his gf and they didn't have a good experience. Very disappointed.

We just moved to the area and are trying out all the local restaurants. This was our first stop and it did not disappoint. This place has yummy horchata and they even have a strawberry horchata which I’ll be trying next. Our burrito and birria tacos were great and great portion size for the price. We’ll definitely be back!

Trying to find good authentic Mexican food in monroe is challenging but El Vaquero is phenomenal!!! My service was amazing. My son choked on a chip and one of the employees checked on us and brought us some fruit for him until our food got to us. They have the BEST salsa and rice as well 🤭

The food was mediocre. The bill was outrageous. There was a communication barrier so, trying to go over our bill with the waiter was a nightmare.
We ordered a pitcher of margaritas. It was approximat $26 bucks and that's made with cheap house tequila (*I've never seen that brand before.) The margarita was really weak so we ordered extra shots to mix in. When we received our bill, they charged us another $26 bucks for another pitcher that we didn't order. Supposedly, because we asked for extra shots and each poured the first initial glass out of the pitcher and they felt they had to top off our pitcher. Then, they took it upon themselves to sell us extra shots of Patron. So, they used a top shelf tequila without asking us what we preferred.
Then they charged us another random $10 dollars for Patron shots.
I can't even.
That pitcher of margaritas ended up costing us approximately $60 dollars. No joke our bill was well over $100.00 bucks.
Never, never, never going back to this place.
