Actually the best in the city 😍
Absolutely unacceptable experience with El Vaquero. The delivery was a disaster — cold food, entrees missing cheese, and everything thrown together carelessly. But the real issue was the owner. When I called to get it resolved, he was rude, dismissive, and outright hostile. He blamed me for ordering on DoorDash, as if that somehow explained why his kitchen didn’t make the food correctly. When I pressed him on how DoorDash could be responsible for food missing basic ingredients, he hung up on me. If a restaurant can’t stand behind its food or treat its customers with basic respect, it doesn’t deserve business. Save your money and order from literally anywhere else.
I rarely leave reviews, but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a restaurant. We ordered delivery from El Vaquero and every single entrée came without cheese — which is ridiculous for enchiladas and burritos. When I called to politely explain the issue, the owner himself got on the phone and was flat-out abusive. He told me it was my fault for ordering on DoorDash, which made no sense at all. When I asked what DoorDash had to do with the fact that the food was made incorrectly, he hung up on me. Not only was the food disappointing, but the complete lack of accountability and the way I was spoken to was shocking. Never ordering from here again.
Ordered delivery from El Vaquero and it was a mess. My enchiladas showed up without cheese and barely warm, like they’d been sitting out forever. For the price, I expected way better. Won’t be ordering again.

My partner and I went for our anniversary as our usual place was closed and we were in the mood for Mexican. The service was good but the food was quite disappointing to me overall. The chips and salsa brought things off to a strong start. We got queso dip and guacamole. I expected the queso to have more of a kick to it, and the guac was a little bland too. For the main meal, I got chicken chimichangas. I suppose the meat choice is where I went wrong, because even though the outer components were good, the chicken inside was so dry and bland, not a speck of seasoning. The chimichangas came with rice and beans. The rice was okay, and the beans were on the bland side as well. We got fried ice cream as a dessert, which my partner had never had before. We were so excited! Unfortunately, I was disappointed once again as the fried ice cream wasn't actually fried like it is at most other Mexican restaurants I'd been to. Instead, it was coated in corn flakes, which quickly became soggy and chewy, which was not an ideal experience. I was looking forward to the warm, crispy, outer shell melting the ice cream on the inside, but instead the ice cream was rock solid and took a few minutes to soften. It's no wonder the corn flakes became soggy. Overall, I was very disappointed in the quality of food, especially considering the prices.
