The fine people at El Raval are doing such good work. I ordered a bottle of one of my favorite wines I’ve had this year. (Languedoc Orange 🍊 wine)
They were training a new waiter.
Guy asks if I want to taste it. Wife has a cocktail already. “Nah! Please just pour.” Temp is off.
I’m like. Ehh. Guy’s new. It’s cool not cold. They bring us a chiller. It’ll cool off. I’m a third through glass one. New guy out of nowhere… “is the temp off on that wine? “Yeah. Like real?”
“I’m getting you a new bottle!”
Paying attention. Doing fine work!
What a gem! The foods are delicious and so as their service. The manager (Derrick) learned that we are celebrating our anniversary and took very good care of us!
The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is friendly and welcoming and the foods are priced very competitively. With how delicious their foods are, I honestly expect to pay a lot more. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin! Make sure to order extra bread and butter to go with their gambas!
We came with a large group and had the best time! It’s a great place to host visitors and showcase Austin’s vibrant food scene. The tapas were all incredible and the paella is delicious! We were very impressed by each dish and loved getting to try and share so many menu items. The staff were also all lovely!
Outstanding food, team, and atmosphere! Easy parking. Get the ceviche, setas al carbon, patatas bravas, and any of the paellas. Fantastic wine selection.

One of the best overall meals of my life. Every dish was perfect, no missteps. The mussels with the fennel, hamachi crudo, roasted mushrooms, gazpacho, and Wagyu meatballs were all stellar. The sauces for each dish were complex and delicious. Good thing each was served with bread/roti/ banana chips to sop up every drip. Could not recommend this place enough.
