I grew up going to Eagle Mountian house every summer . We loved the veranda , and the historic charm Eagle mountian house offered .
You felt as if you had stepped back in time , with a hint of the past around every corner .
We had stopped going for a while because it seemed as if the veranda was always closed off or being used for a wedding
Then family grew up and many moved out of New England . My husband I would return to NH often , but for whatever reason did not have a chance to stay at the Eagle Mountian house .We did stop in occasionally for breakfast.
This past trip we stayed . The rooms were as remembered . The porch still beautiful .
How ever the Lobby has lost all.of it's historic Charm . I do not like it, and I was not the only one. I heard several guest mention it , and how sad it made them feel .
There is absolutely no historic feeling left in the lobby or Dining area.
The remodel is beautiful and Modern , but I can stay at a Holiday in with a beautiful and Modern lobby and breakfast for free much cheaper . The appeal at the Eagle mountian house is gone .

Stayed here for 2 nights for the Columbus day weekend vacation. This was the worst stay for me and my family ever had in our life. There was so many bugs in the room as soon as we enter the room. We complained to the front desk and the manager and they didn't do anything. My kids were so afraid and didn't sleep for 2 nights. They had the worse nightmare ever. The bugs were crawling on the walls and flying inside the room. They didn't give us a new room. The curtains were so old and ripped. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go there.

Rooms were dated and the property needs some serious repairs. The windows had gaps. Then there was a verrryyyy old heating system which was on all the time. No way to switch it off, the old lever was stuck. But it was 24C outside so the aircon needed to be left on.
The lobby was beautiful, the outdoor veranda was awesome with lovely views.
We had dinner in the hotel, they ran out of some dishes. What we ordered was ok. The lady serving us was nice. The table we got was in a great spot but the floor was very dirty, takes 2 mins to clean up.
They ran out of coffee in the morning and while one staff instructed us to get coffee from the breakfast room, another staff told us off for doing so - that was very rude.
They kept water bottles in the room and gave free cookies upon check-in, that was nice.
This area, new hamsphire, gets lady bugs entering the properties.. this one had them too. They didnt do anything though but not sure if other hotels in the area were having the same issue or not.

Our stay was nothing like a year or two ago. There was no working elevator which makes it very difficult and uncomfortable for those with mobility issues.. Staff did not seem concerned that this created a hardship. No offers to relocate us to a different room where we would not need to climb stairs. Housekeeping was cleaning rooms next to ours until 7:30 pm. A lot of the charm of the hotel seems to have disappeared with the renovations. A beautiful location but service and guest experience does not seem to be what it used to be. We love Jackson but will stay at a different hotel next time.
Stayed here during one of their busiest weeks of the year. Staff was pleasant, room met expectations given the age of the building, and the trail hike directly was a good quick walk for my pup and I. Unfortunately their elevator was down so we and more importantly all the senior citizens were hauling luggage up flights of stairs. Max the bartender was an amazing mixologist and I greatly enjoyed their bar. Food was okay in the restaurant but nothing special. Good spot for families with kids and people traveling with a dog. Views were spectacular and the porch was truly spectacular!
