Sometimes I think it's just me, but then I start reading these reviews after I left and I have no problem leaving this review...
I want to express my extreme disappointment with my recent experience at DXL in Ann Arbor. I came in needing new clothes, but from the moment I arrived, I did not feel welcomed. It wasn’t until I walked all the way to the back of the store where the jackets are that anyone greeted me. When I asked about jackets, the response from the red-haired associate was simply, “Yep, they’re all right here.” That was it. From that point on, she seemed more interested in folding clothes than helping me.
When I tried to use the fitting room, she told me I needed to ask to get in, while juggling clothes and holding her Monster drink. Later, when I asked her a second time to unlock the door, she opened it and then told me to just leave it ajar so I could go back and forth. That felt inconsistent and unnecessary. At checkout, she pointed me in the general direction of the register instead of walking me there, continuing her conversation with another employee. The entire time, I felt like I was being treated as a second-class customer.
Even at checkout, when there were issues with the email sign-up code, I was encouraged to register but was seconds away from walking out because of the poor service. The clothes themselves seem nice, but the customer service was not. Unfortunately, I do not plan on returning to this store. The lack of professionalism and customer care made for a very unwelcoming experience.
