My new friend Renatta Hamilton, saved the day when needed a place for my sister. Now I must admit t the place sold itself with the gorgeous room and social functions, but Renatta made it all possible with her patience and caring attitude. Thank you Dunwoody Pines.

My dad and I had an amazing tour with Renatta Hamilton. She was Knowledgeable, friendly, and had my dad feeling like he was already at home. The entire staff was welcoming and helpful making us feel like part of a family. We said yes to the address!! Thank you Ms. Hamilton for everything!

Renatta Hamilton, Community Development Director, at Dunwoody Pines is amazing! My Mom is transitioning from a 4-bedroom single family home to an independent living facility. Renatta has gone over and beyond to address our questions, even if my Mom asks the same question numerous times. Renatta is patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. She is the main reason we chose Dunwoody Pines. She keeps her commitment to update items in the apartment, such as touch up paint, slow-close toilet set, grab bar near toilet, and handheld shower. Renatta is understanding and truly cares. My Mom looks forward to seeing Renatta regularly after she moves into the facility.

I began my search for an independent senior living residence for my siblings early this year. I was given a referral to visit Dunwoody Pines by an associate who had just placed his father here. He was so positive about everything, and especially assured me that I would love working with Renatta Hamilton. Well his recommendation was spot on, both for the quality of the facility and the programs offered, and Renatta’s help and guidance. Renatta was the difference maker for me. I visited several other properties but none compared to what I first experienced at Dunwoody Pines. Renatta is empathetic, thorough, and straight forward. She was effective in answering all of my questions, concerns and addressing my fears. Thanks to her diligence and excellence, my siblings will be moving into their beautiful unit next month. We can’t wait! Thanks Renatta! ❤️

Frequently Asked Questions About Dunwoody Pines Retirement Community

What does Independent Living in Dunwoody include?

Independent living communities cater to residents who need minimal help or no help at all with their activities of daily living – like bathing and dressing –but do want access to the myriad of benefits and amenities that retirement communities offer. In an independent retirement community, residents rent private apartments or cottages and then take advantage of shared spaces and amenities like walking paths, on-site gyms, and restaurant-style dining. Although residents live independently, some available services provide a more comfortable retirement, like chef-prepared meals, lawn care, home maintenance, and on-site salons. Independent living communities allow residents to experience resort-style retirement for a fixed monthly rent, which is both predictable and affordable.

Are Dunwoody Independent Living Facilities licensed?

Because senior independent living facilities do not offer medical or personal care, licensing is not required. For this reason, most independent living facilities who only offer one level of service are not licensed with a state board or department. However, some communities – often called continuing care communities – offer independent living in addition to other levels of care, like memory care or assisted living. Because these facilities do offer medical and personal care, they must be licensed by the department of health. Licensed facilities are subject to periodic surveys from governing bodies to ensure they continue to meet the requirements for certification.
