⭐ 1 Star - Used to Be Great – Now Consistently Disappointing
The Dunkin’ Donuts location in Volo used to be my favorite spot for a quick, reliable breakfast for myself and my coworkers. Unfortunately, over the past year, the quality and service have declined to the point where I can no longer recommend it.
I’ve experienced repeated issues with mobile orders: missing or incorrect items were common. When I ordered two hash browns or Wake-Up Wraps, I often received only one. Avocado toast was frequently either missing the bacon I paid for or had bacon added when I requested it plain. The toast itself? Not toast. Usually cold, soggy, and rarely seasoned consistently. Sometimes barely any seasoning, in other cases, the seasoning was so excessive it spilled everywhere when I opened the box in my vehicle.
Breakfast sandwiches meant to be on croissants were consistently served on English muffins—usually untoasted. The iced lemon loaf I ordered? Never once received it. Instead of a vanilla sprinkle donut, I often got a vanilla Long John. As for their grilled cheese? Essentially it is just two slices of sourdough with a single slice of cheese, mostly hardened onto the crust —definitely not worth the price.
What’s even more frustrating is that, despite placing and paying for my orders in advance through the Dunkin’ mobile app, they were rarely ready when I arrived. I was often told to park and wait so the store could maintain better drive-thru times. That kind of manipulation of service metrics is frustrating as a paying customer.
I submitted multiple complaints via the Dunkin’ app and the receipt survey, but all I ever received in return was an offer for a free donut—which I didn’t want, especially given the odds it would be the wrong one too. I also wasn't looking for free items—I wanted consistent accuracy and quality.
The final straw happened after drive-thru had me pull into a parking spot and I sat there watching an employee with my order in hand walk outside, then turn around and go back in to help other customers, only to return several minutes later – and then criticize me for not parking close enough.
Overall, despite the convenient location, the service and quality control at this restaurant have become so completely unacceptable that I have since stopped going entirely. I cannot recommend the Volo Dunkin’ Donuts to anyone.
