To whom it may concern,
I would give you what I feel are important criteria of me being a DSW shoe customer for years, in multiple locations and the reasons why I was a loyal customer. However, the floor manager at Fort Collins 4431 Corbett Drive obviously gives little regard to my decades of business.
My wife and I realized that we were showing up 25 minutes before closing. We are both independant business owners with many years of retail and service industry back grounds. We understand and train our staffs about the importance of customer service, even during closing time. We live in Greeley. And, with our busy schedules, it is hard to get to Fort Collins within ever decreasing operational times of businesses that we support. As business owners, we understand the importance of where our customers spend their dollars and what we need to do to continue to offer them a valued reason to do business with us.
Again, the manager that was on the floor, approaching my wife and I about the importance of her closing the store in 15 minutes did not show any regard of DSW appreciation of our business. Even after we both did our own quick and independant searching for what we needed, within 10 minutes, it was still not enough for her in approaching us again, with 3 boxes of shoes that we did purchase in hand. She then stated to us that they were closed. Treating us like we were petulent children, not understanding the importance of said manager to get home. As she was scooting us to the register, she even had the arrogance to insincerely apologize after learning that we had driven from Greeley to spend money in her store. She even had the audacity to insinuate to me that her iPhone watch was more accurate than mine when I showed her we still had three minutes to shop. Our receipt proves my watch was the accurate one.
As owners of businesses, our opinion is DSW's reputation is now that of a Jr. High girls self importance over any customers needs.
We will never shop that store again.
Regards to anyone who would take the time to read this. Hopefully, you care as much about customer service as we do in taking time to write this to you.
Respectfully submitted,
Peter L.
