I'm used to the old style DSW, where you walk in and there are rows of shoes, easy to see where in the store you want to go etc. This store has very tall shelving in all different directions with no clear view of the shoe types or what section you're looking for. I was looking for a particular shoe type and they literally had two options. Not impressed at all, didn't like the layout or ease of finding anything, poor selection. Won't go back.

I recently completed an online order for two pairs of Crocs rain boots for in-store pickup, which went smoothly. However, during my visit to pick up the order, I decided to purchase a package of crew socks that were marked with a $16 price sticker. When the item was scanned at checkout, it rang up as $20. I brought this discrepancy to the attention of the floor supervisor assisting me. She responded by saying, “I know these are $20…someone must have put this sticker on there,” implying that a customer had misplaced or altered the price tag. The sticker, however, appeared to be firmly attached and not recently applied. Other associates checked the display area and confirmed that at least one or two additional packages were also marked with the same $16 price sticker. While I understand that retail operations can be challenging and that pricing errors occur, I believe this situation could have been handled more appropriately. The “supervisor” initially insisted the $20 price was correct rather than acknowledging the possibility of a store labeling error. Only after I requested a return and refund several times did she agree to honor the displayed price. However, the lack of understanding from the associate was a little disappointing. I wanted to share this feedback not out of frustration, but as a suggestion for improvement. I encourage you to review the camera footage and ask the employee her side of this interaction. This could serve as a valuable teaching opportunity regarding customer experience and price discrepancy resolution. As a “supervisor”, she should have the skills and customer service experience to honor $4 that was an error on the store’s part without continuing to argue that “someone placed the sticker on there”. I have worked in retail myself and understand how small interactions can reflect on a brand’s overall customer service. Like I said, I know one customer is not going to make a difference to a huge corporation like DSW but what could have been a purchase of $16 ended up being $0.
