I strolled into DSW today looking for a simple, inexpensive pair of work shoes. You’d think this would be easy — but no, I apparently wandered into the Gucci of mediocre footwear. I spotted a pair I liked and politely asked the cashier if they had any coupons or in-store savings. With the enthusiasm of someone being forced to watch paint dry, she informed me, “Not at this time.” Fair enough. So I wandered back to browse, but this time I pulled out my phone. A quick search later, I discovered that DSW’s so-called “deals” were 30–40% more expensive than other stores — for the exact same shoes. When I asked if they price match, the cashier gave me the full Olympic-level eye roll and replied with a sharp “No.” I smiled, thanked her for nothing, and walked out. DSW, here’s a free business tip: stop trying to fleece customers with inflated prices. Lower your profit margins, stop pretending you’re selling rare designer treasures, and maybe—just maybe—you won’t lose every customer to the internet. Corporate greed is a short game, and the internet keeps score.

I recently had a terrible return experience at this location. DSW has lost a long time customer in me. I would not recommend this store location to anyone. Terrible customer service and willingness to help. If this is how customers are routinely treated your business is guaranteed to decrease.
